Free agency, the scouting combine, and the draft are right around the corner, so let’s look forward to the direction your team is heading in this offseason. Round 1 1. Houston Texans – QB – Blake Bortles – UCF Blake Bortles is not the best quarterback in the draft, but he is the best fit to Coach Bill O’Brian’s mold. The big, strong armed Bortles is the perfect fit in Houston. 2. St. Louis Rams (Via WAS) – DE – Jadaveon Clowney – South Carolina Clowney has been pegged as the most disruptive defensive prospect to come along in a while. He would make the Rams’ defensive line the best in the game. 3. Jacksonville Jaguars – QB – Teddy Bridgewater – Louisville The most complete quarterback prospect falls right into the Jaguars’ lap. They finally get what they’ve been missing for so long, an answer. 4. Cleveland Browns – WR – Sammy Watkins – Clemson We all saw what Josh Gordon could do with no help on offense. Now imagine what these two can do together. The next best one-two punch in the NFL. 5. Oakland Raiders – QB – Johnny Manziel – Texas A&M Johnny Football will bring his incredible play making skills to the west coast. A great piece to help the rebuilding phase come together. 6. Atlanta Falcons – OT – Jake Matthews – Texas A&M The Falcons get a franchise bookend to keep Matt Ryan safe. Jake Matthews is a steal with the sixth pick. 7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – OLB – Khalil Mack – Buffalo Tampa Bay needs help rushing the quarterback. Khalil Mack is the best all around pass rusher in the draft. He can fit into any position in the linebacking corp, and is a pure defensive mismatch. Read Mack’s complete scouting report here. 8. Minnesota Vikings – QB – Derek Carr – Fresno State Derek Carr and his strong-arm will fit nicely in Norv Turner’s vertical offense. They finally have someone to take the pressure off Adrian Peterson. 9. Buffalo Bills – OLB – Anthony Barr – UCLA Adding Anthony Barr next to rookie sensation Kiko Alonso would be almost unfair. These two young linebackers will crush offenses for years to come. 10. Detroit Lions – ILB – CJ Mosley – Alabama The Lions have one of the most intimidating defensive lines in the game. Now it is time to start filling the rest of the defense. Mosley has been a solid as they come at the college level. He will be an instant leader at the next level. 11. Tennessee Titans – OT – Greg Robinson – Auburn Greg Robinson has been punching defenders all season, and he will continue to do so at the next level. He will help keep the quarterback upright, whoever it may be. 12. New York Giants – CB – Darqueze Dennard – Michigan State The Giants secondary has been thin for the past couple years. Dennard would bring great shutdown ability to an NFC East division that is filling itself with weapons. 13. St. Louis Rams – OT – Cyrus Kouandjio – Alabama The Rams focused on getting to the quarterback with their first pick, and now they focus on protecting their own. Kouandjio is very young with tremendous upside. 14. Chicago Bears – DT – Louis Nix – Notre Dame The Bears need to get younger on the defensive side of the ball. Nix could fall a bit because of his injury, but when he is 100%, he is a force. 15. Pittsburgh Steelers – OT – Taylor Lewan – Michigan A big reason as to why the Steelers got off to a horrendous start was because their offensive line is terrible. They will need to upgrade bigtime throughout the offseason. 16. Baltimore Ravens – WR – Mike Evans – Texas A&M Mike Evans would give the Ravens the big physical target that they were missing this season. He would come in and make everyone forget about Anquan Boldin. 17. Dallas Cowboys – S – Haha Clinton-Dix – Alabama Clinton-Dix is an athletic, versatile player. He is great at defending the pass and gets the job done when used in run support. He would instantly upgrade a Cowboys defense that came up short far too often last season. 18. New York Jets – TE – Eric Ebron – North Carolina The Jets were a nightmare to watch on offense. This was because they lacked any type of weapon for their rookie quarterback. Look for Ebron to step right in and change the culture of that offense. 19. Miami Dolphins – OT – Zack Martin – Notre Dame Martin is feeding off a very successful Senior Bowl performance. The Dolphins offensive line problems were embarrassing throughout the season and they will look to completely change that mindset through the draft. 20. Arizona Cardinals – TE – Jace Amaro – Texas Tech Jace Amaro is more of an offensive weapon than he is a tight end. He can play all over the offense and with be inside of the defense’s mind all day game long. Read Amaro’s complete scouting report here. 21. Green Bay Packers – CB – Justin Gilbert – Oklahoma State Gilbert may be the most talented man-to-man corner in the class. Gilbert is the big, physical player that the Green Bay Packers like to have in their secondary. 22. Philadelphia Eagles – DE/OLB – Dee Ford – Auburn Dee Ford is the dynamic defensive player that the Eagles have been missing. He can play both defensive end and outside linebacker. He was the Senior Bowl MVP after an incredible performance. 23. Kansas City Chiefs – WR – Kelvin Benjamin – Florida State Kelvin Benjamin is incredibly gifted. He has all the tools to be a top NFL wide receiver, but he tends to be a little streaky at times. He has the size and athleticism to be very successful. 24. Cincinnati Bengals – S – Calvin Pryor – Louisville The Bengals had one of the most talented defenses in the league this past year. Adding depth to their thin secondary would make them even more dominant. 25. San Diego Chargers – CB – Jason Verrett – TCU The Chargers offense returned to form in 2013 after adding some key ingredients. San Diego hopes to do the same thing to their defense this offseason. Their first task will be finding a dynamic cornerback. 26. Cleveland Browns (Via IND) – OG – David Yankey – Stanford The Browns had a weak link in their offensive line all last season, and that was the offensive guard position. Yankey is an extremely disciplined, smash mouth player who would be a large upgrade. 27. New Orleans Saints – OLB – Kyle Van Noy – BYU Kyle Van Noy would be the perfect addition to a defense that is in the middle of switching schemes. He a playmaker on defense and does a great job getting to the quarterback. 28. Carolina Panthers – Marqise Lee – USC Lee is a threat to take it to the house whenever he has the ball in his hands. The Panthers need to give Cam Newton an explosive weapon in order to get deeper into the playoffs. 29. New England Patriots – DT – Aaron Donald – Pittsburgh Aaron Donald is another beneficiary of a great Senior Bowl week. He showed great toughness and the ability to beat whoever was lined up across from him. Belichick and company would love to have him on their team. 30. San Francisco 49ers – DE – Kony Ealy – Missouri Ealy has a great mix of pass rushing and run stopping ability. The 49ers defense would only become more dominant with this addition. 31. Denver Broncos – DE/DT – Ra’shede Hageman – Minnesota Hageman’s ability to play all over the defensive line makes him a great fit for Denver. They can plug him into multiple positions in any situation. He has great athleticism for his size. 32. Seattle Seahawks – OG – Xavier Su’a Filo – UCLA Russell Wilson does not have enough time in the pocket. He spends far too much time scrambling and attempting to extend the play.
