For the season, the Buccaneers' play-action rate is 16.2%.
it was 43.5 the first half against the bengals , the most all year
Wait.
You mean to tell me our best offensive showing this year for an entire half came on heavy usage of play action?
I thought play action only works when you run the ball well?
(We averaged 3.8 yards per carry in the 1st half).
Weird…
Looking at the situations where we ran or didn’t run play action are important. We ran PA against the Bengals with success on first down throughout the first half. But we started our first 3 drives of the 2nd half with runs on 1st down. All 3 drives ended without a first down and started up the Bengals comeback.

Correct, and the team was still leading Cincy for all three of those drives.
@biggs3535 - but steady losing the lead with no production on offense and losing all momentum.

Excellent and accurate points.
Lovie’s sequencing with play calling is horrible.
We all want Leftwich gone, has anyone asked the question Who would want to come work with Bowles? He has had a big hand in killing the offense. Thoughts?
Both Bowles and Leftwich need to be fired. Which essentially means most if not the entire coaching staff will be gone in the regime change. With Brady leaving and Leftwich getting axed, it's a good time to start over with a more progressive coaching staff.
Isn’t Bowles coaching with mostly Arians staff because the transition happened so late?
if so, big coaching turnover coming anyway.
Also a reason Bowles is unlikely to get fired.
Simple formula to beat the Panthers: get out to a lead early. Force them to go away from the run.
if the coaches have been holding back the offense this is the game to let loose the reins, especially early on.
CAR ran for 300 yards last week. I don't have a lot of confidence we can stop their running game. We're gonna need to force some turnovers and start running our offense to our strengths -- throwing the ball, no huddle, keep the D off balance. That's the only way we can win, based on recent performances.
I am not sure we can stop their running game unless we can force them to pass because we have the lead.
I just noticed -- this new board has pagination! Uh-mazing. Now we can launch a political thread with thousands of messages that doesn't take 5 minutes to load. 🤣
Bowles hatred of great offense ensures the Bucs hire a very low tier OC in the offseason. For this reason alone Bowles needs to be one and done. His coaching philosophy is incredibly outdated. Keeping him guarantees a new decade of losing. Folks, it’s on him.
@crazyhorse54 I'm guessing on the Monday morning after our last game, there will be a conversation with Turd Bowels' about his plan for the offense in 2023. If he doesn't put out O-coordinator names with a good reputation, he should be gone. I'm wondering if Turd and Jason have already have some conversations on coaches he might be interested in.

The CAR RB's rushed 16 times for 47 yards for 2.9 YPC, and Carolina lead the entire game until 6:47 left in Q4.
