Eagles gave Reddick permission to seek a trade
27 sacks the last 2 years
Bucs best shot is to find an edge rusher via trade and draft one with the first or second round pick. Bucs don't have the cap space to land a big free agent edge rusher.
I think we’ll find an OLB/edge in FA. Someone that still has something to contribute as a pure edge rushing specialist.Bucs best shot is to find an edge rusher via trade and draft one with the first or second round pick. Bucs don't have the cap space to land a big free agent edge rusher.
I’d be surprised if we trade for that, but it could happen.
absolutely agree.Eagles gave Reddick permission to seek a trade

Too rich for us.
Scott Reynolds posted a video yesterday, and specifically answered a question from a comment during a live session. Believe he said Reddick’s current/final contract year he earned $15m - and that he has specifically stated he js looking to “get paid”…if we can get the critical positions on our own roster signed, we won’t have the cap space for anyone in this salary range.
Isnt some of the new pressure going to come from replacing White and getting a better safety to match with Winfield (better blitz production). Maybe Diaby coming on more in a full season, Kancey etc.
In other words might they think they will handle it more organically and less by signing some big FA?
@badabingbucs - you are not wrong at all. But pairing a #26th pick with yaya, shaq, and JTS will not help improve our pass rush this year. Maybe we look at someone that isn’t Allen or Burns, but we need a productive vet. Tough decisions to be made. How do we get better?
BEST CASE SCENARIO. Either JTS, Yaya, or Hall just Blows up this year. They are DUE next year, JTS showed some LATE This year. So I mean, we kinda need these first rounders that we invested in 2 and 3 years ago to start "bearing" fruit, the Flowering cycle needs to be nearing its end, and we need to move into the plant-flower and/or pollination cycle this OofSeason- All season long. And then Bear Fruit at season start. If not, it depends...give it another year or simply part ways with those that can't mature to the point where they BEAR Big'Ol Melons of fruit or even just some worthy fruit of a SOLID Contributor. Who here would be upset if Hall is the next Nassib? Nassib was SOLID. Who Here would be upset with JTS turning the corner or YAYA lighting it up as a sophomore? Hopefully'ya'know. If it doesn't work out, thankfully, 'No one dies" and we can figure out how to crush even more adversity. (P.S...That's how you get STRONGER-for u folks that could use a bit more personal confidence in yo Life.) Maybe through the draft, maybe taking a flyer on another Denver "cast-off." We'll figure it out, whatever it takes rite?
best options?
1) Khalil Mack (trade or release? roster bonus in 3 days)
2) Joey Bosa (trade or release? roster bonus in 3 days)
3) Haason Riddick (trade)
4) Josh Sweat (trade)
5) Chase Young
6) Jadeveon Clowney (visiting Carolina)
7) trade up for Dallas Turner, Jared Verse or Laiatu Latu?
They dumped Barrett so they are committed to doing something. I'm sure their first choice would be to use that #1 pick and you neglected to include Chop Robinson who is one of the players mocked to the Bucs. Licht could trade up a bit by trading a 3rd or 4th but I think Licht would prefer to keep building the depth of his roster by utilizing all his picks. He's traded up before of course, but just my suspicion that I don't think he wants to give up those picks. He's building through the draft, and he brought in a boatload of rookies last year and I think he's still on that plan this year.best options?

Edge is not a position you can fool around with, and I just don't think the Bucs want to be boxed in to having no choice but to fill that position in the draft and starting the rookie right away. I think they'll find a free agent so they aren't stuck if things don't fall their way in the draft. What if they don't get the edge rusher until Day 2? That player may not be ready to start right away. They need to do something in free agency at the edge position. It's too important of a position to just pull some guys off practice squads and UDFAs and see who sticks.
@catherder - good points. Think about this… when is the last time the Bucs have drafted an edge rusher that has given us double digit sacks at any point during their career? Maybe Marcus Jones in the late 90’s? Are we gonna take another shot at a late first rounder like JTS? Look what that has gotten us. A rotational player that makes about 5 good plays a year. Bowles and Licht can’t afford to go with this crew, plus a draft pick. Go get a FA edge while there are still a few left.
JTS was a project though so this time around the Bucs will be drafting an edge rusher that is more polished like Diaby. Shaq had like 4.5 sacks when even JTS has more sacks to finish the season and JTS did better as a rotational player.
I anticipate the Bucs bringing in a vet edge rusher and then drafting one to compete with the five they currently have and keep the best five IMO.
Dan-yell Hunter still available?

this!
1 and 2 unlikely
3 might be too expensive for our taste as would require a contract extension as well
sign me up for one of 4 through 6.
