The Bucs are not going far with these kinds of defensive performances.  I can see the offense being off today but the defense has no real excuse and was terrible.  Almost a 6 yard average running and Brissett 100 rating (highest if the season, I think, definitely above his average)

but the defense forced 2 turnovers, a field goal miss, a turnover on downs when it mattered most

you need to put up 30 points to win in the league on most weeks. When you look at when Bucs were thriving last year or in the Brady years, that’s what they were averaging

putting up 20 points and still winning is a credit to the defense

and I’m not usually one to claim “refs” but looked like some pretty obvious holds on both the cardinals TDs

yeah what was up with some of those calls?

Good points. Maybe I am wrong to call out the defense. I just think they cant be that soft down in and out because a good team will destroy them.  For example, almost 6 yards per carry allowed and then they were 2-2 in the red zone. and its really the defense that is on the hot seat. The offense is just getting guys bacck

I mean I know alot want to just hammer the defense because of Todd Bowles fatigue but even the rams game

offense does didley poo with first drive

cade Otton does his thing on that second drive. Holy hell

you had to put up 30 to have a chance to beat rams (Carolina 31 points today) and our offense had us out of the game immediately

so yeah defense needs to be better but the offense costing us dearly during this tough stretch.

well I agree - dropped 1st down and dropped TD from two best WRs in this game-  but I can see that hopefully improving over time.

Saw some developing timing between Baker and CG, and Bicky seems back to playmaking form. Although I saw Tykee go down, I don’t think there were any more serious injuries. Seeing Baker able to move the ball without aggravating that left shoulder is a plus, another week of treatment should get him back into a groove.

However, don’t like the o-line penalties from Goedeke, and very concerned that the Panthers beat the Rams - that their defense made it a very competitive game, but their offense was also able to score against the Ram defense that we struggled against.

As others have said, Carolina is no longer a check-mark win. Splitting looks to be the best outcome.

Our offense being able to generate long drives - keeping OUR defense off the field - helps our defense.

first one at least
on the other side one of our TDs was hold, but the other for sure not!

but refs will always do their crap, can't do anything there. ask saints 😎

I think you're right.  I just read that we held them to their second lowest scoring of the season.

The game sure didn't feel that way, all the passes out to the flats.

Ok so they beat a team they should have and that's awesome but I'm not sold on the defense against top competition. Hopefully we don't settle for this when it's time for changes to be made.

Their success v the Rams has nothing to do with us.  The NFL doesn’t work that way.

The phantom Wirfs hold on that Egbuka catch.  The not letting Baker have that “free play” after the Cards were off-sides.

The refs allowed this game to be close. Also CG and Egbuka need to make 95% of their catches, the drops don’t have a place in pro football.

What? If the Panthers defense can get stops, and the offense can move the ball, against the best team (right now) in the NFC, then that tells me that the Panthers are playing a a very high level against the top NFC competition.

As I said, Carolina is no pushover. They have a running game, which means they weren’t counting on Bryce Young’s arm.

That Carolina defense held a very potent Rams offense in check, when it mattered.

Carolina is a problem.

Now that we’re getting players back, we have time to put something together, if we can keep everyone healthy. Our defense needs our offense to have long scoring drives.

Yep, Carolina is a problem.

I agree with you that we should not discount the Panthers, but I would also not overread the win against the Rams.  Any given Sunday.  The rams had one six in a row going in so they were going to lose even to a lesser team. The Broncos almost lost last night

True, but Carolina has been streaky, beating both the Packers and Rams - blown out by the 9-ers and Bills.

They’re a problem. They are half a game behind us and have shown they can out things together - especially against teams that struggle in run defense.

Good that we have Reddick & Sean back - that can only help.
