A win is a win, and being 3-0 in the NFL is no small feat. However, let’s not forget that these three victories have come in the last minute against teams with a combined record of 1-8.
and a different o-line each game
falcons on the road is tough no matter their record
Texans D on road with no oline is a good win.
Today even they figure out a way. The team basically quit in the 4th so Bowles needs to get his shit together, but with a makeshift line they were taking care of busienss atn home, which is what you want. In fact if there is no blocked FG its a 29-20 win. Definitely not a foot on throat win at 29-20, but not as glaring a shit show.
Maybe its good that the 4th quarter collapse is front/center. Trying to find a positive.lol
The Bucs beating bad teams they should win against is a must when they face the gauntlet with the Eagles, Seahawks, 49ers, and Lions. And finish with the Saints before the bye.
Exactly.
If we go 1-4 during that stretch (assuming the one win is against the Saints), we'd head into the BYE at .500, 2-0 divisional record, and catching the more favorable side of the schedule.
@white-tiger - definitely. Finding a way to win these first three games with all we’ve had to deal with is impressive. I’m more worried about the future with how we’ve been playing. If we play the next four games like we did the first three, we could easily lose all 4 games. That’s why this game was so important. How quick a season can change. Early is the 4th quarter we went from “Great, we’re gonna be 3 and 0” To “holy crap, we might lose this game, and could be looking at 2-2, or even 2-3.
We will win if Chase hits fgs. We will lose if he continues with the yips.
That's the x-factor for me
This feels relevant
Evans not getting 1000 this year
don't count on it yet. Once Baker gets even just one OT back, Evans' numbers will go up. Today was really his only setback; the first two games he was just under pace. One big game puts him right back on track.
he might be out several weeks, maybe even until the bye week, so yes, the streak might well end this season.
Just to give you an idea of the troubles created by having a shuffled O-line, the Bucs basically adjusted to HALF a running game:
"“I don’t know if it calmed [the offensive line] down a bunch, but we changed some things up to mitigate some of those penalties about what those guys can do from a scheme standpoint,” Bowles said. “We just tried to do more running straight at them, as opposed to left and right, and [we were] getting into binds where we’re on the edge, as opposed to running down the middle of them.”
That explains why the Bucs are not doing as much horizontal play on offense because of the limitations due to the OL shuffle.

Right, so at one point we had Egbuka, Shep and Johnson at WR and we were running HALF a running game. Just have to get healthy. If the offense was all cylinders and hopefully scoring early we be a real problem for many teams. Maybe we struggle though this next stretch due to the injuries, but then come on strong at the end
Really wish Baker hadn't missed Tez on that deep ball
it was a big miss. last week he missed egbuka for few inches. next one will be perfect
