We've gotten lucky that these past couple drafts that our picks have hit a need but were also great value on the board at the time of the selection.

I know you can still mess these picks up but Licht has been very very fortunate with what has fallen to him.

But you also gotta give him credit for reaching on Egbuka too.

Overall he's above average drafter but he's has 12 years to get it right. He still can't find edge players or draft in the 2nd round to save his life (sans Winfield who fell to him).

I thought I saw a few weeks back that the Bucs are #1 in the NFl in terms of "homegrown" talent on their roster?

If that is true you cant have the Bucs success over the past 5 or 6 years and be a bad drafter.

or, maybe it just a great HC?

Fire, maybe you need to pick a lane (maybe even a new one)  because you went from FireLICHT to FireBOWLES.

I would disagree that Egbuka was a reach. I think the Rams called us trying to trade for our pick to select them and we told them no thanks. Guy had a mid-late first round grade so pick 19 is about right. But to your OP, I'd agree he is above average drafter. All the trial and error is starting to pay off. The days of wasting a 2nd on a backup QB who was later cut and a kicker who is no longer in the NFL are behind us, I hope. I'll give him his due for finding OL talent, he's brought in quality players when we had to get a starter early. Mauch, Goedeke were guys who looked like bust but ended up turning into long-term starters for the squad. Its hard to evaluate OL college players these days with how the game is being played so at least Licht is good at one side of the ball with the trenches.

Yeah he's done more good than bad and hopefully he's learned... But his approach to LB is appalling... Ignoring the position but taking White inside the top 5? Awful awful analytics and value. Again if you take a LB or RB that early they better be perrenial pro bowlers or it's a bust.

So many great LBs are found in rounds 2-4 just like RB and defensive backs

Can't hang it all on Licht.  Bowles just doesn't value the ILB position that much to make it a priority.  Bowles wants front seven defenders that can stop the run and flexible tall and agile DBs on the boundary with short and stocky nickle and safeties patrolling mid field.

Despite Dennis having iffy play and LVD not being 100% himself the woes on defense really are on the DBs dropping INTs, out of position and not understanding their leverage, and the front seven not generating sacks.

I have seen Dennis out of position and swimming in his head out there and LVD missing routine tackles this year but ironically the flaws at ILB are so much miniscule compared to the other issues on defense.

If the draft was redone today, Egbuka would be the second player taken in the draft, maybe the first.  Anyone evaluating him now with “he was taken about where he should have been” given what they know today is a complete idiot on the football front.

I have to admit some of the seahawks bounces were just luck.

We were lucky that Logan's helmet was right where Darnold's throw was going.

Baker kept us in the game. EE was amazing. White and Tucker bent but didn't break.

Bowles knows how to call a time out with three seconds on the clock and I think he's getting the clock down better....LOL

Our defense didn't get a sack but stop them...err let's not over think our defense...lol

We got lucky when LD number 54 did get the tipped ball off of Logans helmet.

And.... AW had one if the Ref didn't call that chuck rule which I don't think the ref was in the position to actually call it.

We won and in the NFL it's either a W or an L and I'll take the W.....lol

Aren't you the idiot that swore up and down J McMillian would have a better year than our rookie WR? Aren't you glad you did not take that bet, otherwise you would owe me and @Biggs3535 a good amount of money.

He was taken where he should have been based on his draft grade. The statement still stands, nobody had him as a top 5 or top prospect. There is no redrafts so that hypothetical is just as dumb as your statements.

If this is your post and you truly believe it, you are the idiot.

McMillan got hurt.  He’s damn good.  You will go against your own beliefs like a damn republican if it means holding on to something wrong.

If the draft was redone today, Egbuka is one of the first players off the board.  Pretty simple.

This is nuts. Sounds like free money though, how much are you willing to wager.

$500-1K bet?

You have quite a few willing to take you up on your bet. Just tell me how many zeros you want to put behind the number. That will be fine with me.

2K it is.  Don't bitch out.

Sweet. You said JMac leads the team in receiving yardage and top 2 in receptions for $2,000:

I’ll put money on McMillan being the receiver with the most yards this year.

Posted by: @theknees

Name the bet. He finishes in the top 2 in receptions this year.  Debate your mom...

I'll accept Apple Pay, Zelle, Cash App, Paypal, or Venmo.

I'm guessing we will be seeing the "bitch out" he was referring to.

Tell me LVD is done now.

WOW! Great WIN BABY!

Look forward to seeing his Canton induction in person.

Made me wonder, if you’re going to Canton, what state do you call home?

FL (Primary)

GA/NC (vacation/secondaries)

Bowles just doesn't value the ILB position that much to make it a priority

I was wondering about this because the thing that seemed to me to be a flaw in Bowles defense is that is requires a scarce resource, meaning an ILB like LVD in his prime.

An ILB who can cover in space is much harder to find than a run stopper.

Maybe I am off on that

Gotcha. Was thinking you might be local to Canton, OH. I’m from Columbus, but have been in Florida so long I get confused for a local.

Spend time in GA, (and of all places) MI.

Injuries before the season started canceled the bet.  Backup boy, Teddy, threw a hospital ball and ruined his opportunity for this bet to play out.

Tough stuff.
