I hope all are well from Hurricane Milton. Yesterday’s win brought many smiles in the Bay Area when we really needed it.

The Good
Halftime adjustments happened at all levels. Great job by our coaches to get things figured out and approach the 2nd half differently.

Teams may start realizing that you should run the ball on the Saints. During their first two games they took big leads early and teams had to get away from their running games. The last few weeks teams are running right at them and the Saints have no answer. It was great to see, but I’m not sure our running game will look like it did Sunday every week.

Our defense is in good shape when we’re playing against run heavy teams. Our strength is our run defense. Good luck to teams that think they can run the ball on first down against us.

Our willingness to throw on every down over the last few weeks has really started to open up running opportunities. We finally have a pass to run philosophy, which is what our offensive line talent is also built for.

Vea and Kancey are a great tandem in the middle of the defense. And they showed that yesterday.

Aside from one bad read and a few minutes of play, Baker played another great game. He’s making great reads and I love how Cohen is throwing the ball on the first drives over the last three weeks. It gets Baker going.

The next 3 weeks will tell us if we’re a playoff team or a real contender. They will test our weaknesses. I like this teams makeup.

Kancey really jumped off the screen to me. The DL needed him badly.

I'm legit shocked that both Bowles and Coen made excellent A+ halftime adjustments.

Coen being somewhat green but switching to the run (even when it was obvious) was great.

Bowles pitched a second half shutout and adjusted well.

I loved that Bowles put players at the line and faked a blitz, then dropped back.

Been waiting to see more of that... Really nice

@firebowles2023 - I agree. That was my biggest takeaway… that our coaches did a great job. Cohen is good. I’m going to hate to lose him in the offseason. He will get a head coaching job if the offense continues on its current path.

A lot of it was situational, with their offense playing from behind forced them out of their game plan/scheme. Their defense has been suspect against the run against Philly & ATL.

But there were great adjustments made, allowing 20 points in a few minutes in the 2nd quarter - and finding yourself down by 7 in a few more minutes after leading by 14 will do that to you.

The point is made though, the coaches deserve credit for making the adjustments and making sure our Bucs didn’t quit on either side of the ball.

Especially against a city & team that hates you with a lot of bad juju…

The feeling is mutual (about the team, love the city).

Agree with everything here, Bowles' situational awareness and clock management continues to be an issue that is going to cost us again down the line.

Modern day offense

The days of the Leftwich play calling are long and gone.

Great win for sure, b ut i might not overplay the significance.  All one has to do is watch the Godwin TD and you see a Saints team that just isnt tackiling at all.  the LB in the flat doesnt even come close to Godwin, but watch the next two defenders.  Yikes.

and then watch the after after he breaks by them

I see the same thing - I don’t think the Saints are as good as we thought they were after that week-one beat down of Dallas. Since then, neither NOLA nor Dallas, look very good.

Baker still doesn’t have a lot of time, made a couple of bad decisions (not counting the two tipped INT’s).

The Saints game reminded me of the way Philly played in the Wildcard game last season. They showed some life, but they just gave up after we were able to exploit their run defense in the 2nd half.

As has been mentioned, I too was encouraged that both Bowles & Coen were able to make effective adjustments that turned the game around in the 2nd half. Not sure Bowles is going to lure Lamar into that same false sense of security, before surprising him with different pressure packages in the 2nd half like he did verse “the Rattler”…

Still think we need that edge rusher we knew we needed heading into this season.

The Ravens will present a championship caliber test of this Buccaneer team. I’m looking forward it.
