Baker not the type of QB to overcome a bad defense and a mediocre WR core. Guy basically has to be flawless - no throwing picks in order for us to win.
This defense is killing our biggest issue. linebacker play and edge play just not good and our secondary being banged up is the nail in the coffin.

Getting behind Cousins forced us to throw the ball too much in the 2nd half…which is risky, especially with untrusted/unknown WR’s.
We got taken out of our game plan early with White’s fumble, but it’s not on him. I thought we had a chance late - but the picks & fumble cost us points & time. While our defense did get some stops in the 2nd half, we didn’t dominate, didn’t presssure, Kirk basically took it up & down the field on us at will. There was another moment when they missed the field goal, but we don’t have answers throwing the ball…because we have no one that scares the opposing defense.

What really killed us was turning the ball over on 3 consecutive series, while the defense actually got the Falcons off the field twice.
Alas, defense and the HC are the two weakest links on this team. Hopefully, Licht pulls the trigger on Bowles at the end of the year.
