For his first year as OC he needs to do one job and one job only during the game:  Call plays

I think the first quote you posted had an "AND?"  He said he preferred to be on the sidelines for the camaraderie and....?

He enjoys the camraderie.  Whoopdedoo.  He's a rookie coach, not Todd Monken or Kellen Moore.  Griz can suggest where he likes to coach, but the final say is Todd Bowles.  Bowles has seen a lot in his days and Griz hasn't coached any.  It's Todd Bowles' decision to make, not a greenhorn rookie coach.  So another Todd Bowles decision that will have a big impact on the success of this team.  It's not Griz's decision to make.  IMO Bowles should say "You're in the booth for the first year, Griz."  Done.  Decision made.

if Grizz spent the preseason making an informed choice about booth or sideline and then Bowles overruled him he'd be a terrible leader and head coach. Grizz should be doing what he thinks offers the best chance of success

Grizzard: “Hey Coach Bowles, after trying both, I really think I’ll be more successful and efficient if I can call the plays from the sideline.”

Bowles: “I don’t give a shit, rook. You’re gonna call the plays from the booth.”

Makes plenty of sense.

Different words, but yeah.  Bowles is the head coach. Could you imagine Belichick or Parcetls o their coordinator "Well what do you want to do young lad?  Whatever it is, I'm game!"  No, Belichick would say "Your doing XYZ" and that's it.  Whatever is best for the team is what needs to be dolne and it may or may not line up with the desires of a rookie offensive coordinator.  We need Bowles to have some stones and act like the veteran head coach that just got an extension and make decisions.  That may be to put him on the sidelines, but whatever it is Griz will be happy to do it because he knows its not his call to make.  Again, it would be different if we brought in a high profile guy from outside.  Then you have to give him some leeway to runs things the way he sees fit.  But that's not the case here.

Both Belichick & Parcells had coordinators who called plays from the sidelines & booth. They didn’t “bring in high profile guys from outside” when they hired their coordinators. But they also didn’t dictate where the guy they hired to call plays called the plays from, because that would be foolish.

Your arguments and points continue to get worse.

The final decision is up to the head coach because.... he's the head coach!   And the sky is blue.  Of course Bowles is going to consider Griz's opinion and be professional about it but the final decision is his.  Just because Griz wants to do it a certain way doesn't mean that's how they should do it.  That's all I'm pointing out.  You have no argument here.

Goofy sports radio callers are funny. Do you really think someone here is saying that the final decision isn’t the Head Coach’s? Or is that simply a strawman because you’re getting obliterated and don’t have anywhere else to go?

Lolz @ “you have no argument here.” This take, along with numerous others, yet again confirms you don’t a firm grasp on how the league works. Carry on, Professor.

It's not Griz's decision to make.

Yes, it is.

OK bud.  I don't call in to sports shows either.  I guess I don't know.  I thought the head coach made the decisions. Apparently not.  Acccording to you and Donkey Bowles doesn't make the decisions on this team.  I guess I have a lot to learn.

I'm simply making the following points

1) I think Griz should be in the booth on game day, even though he likely won't do that.  Just my opinion.

2) Bowles makes the final decision about whether Griz is in the booth or on the field.

3) If Griz gets to make the decision, it's because Bowles delegated that decision to him.  Therefore the responsibility rests with Bowles.
