My Expectations???? Lets see how the Glazers take into considerations the depths they want to go into their wallet and commitment into putting a OC that will blend the talent into a SB caliber team and if they can get a DC. If they go weak they will lose $$$. If they go to land with the thought process to win then I expect to see some very high performing coaches.
Wow. I don’t know your view but Carolina potentially beating the rams makes us look even worse
it make some of the posters here look bad. Remember, playoffs don't matter. Winning the division was meaningless.
any given .... Saturday
Canales understand that playoff experience is important for a winning culture for players to learn and grow. The first season he was with the 2010 Seahawks under Carroll the Seahawks went 7-9.
People mocked that Seahawk team for winning a division with a losing record. But they beat the Saints in the wild card and advanced to the division round. They followed that season 7-9 in 2011 but from 2012 and onwards the Seahawks went on a run of double digit winning seasons 8 out of 9 seasons and won it all in 2013.
Canales understands that every win matters to help players gain experience.
Now, what should really concern people is that the Bucs have many players with playoff experience and they rolled over like they wanted to quit on the spot.
My expectations are VERY low. I’ve tried to stay calm and look on the bright side of the Glazers retaining Bowles, but I just don’t see the organization being able to assemble a competent coaching staff.
With a few players leaving in free agency or retiring, I think we’re headed towards dark times…
My record prediction is 4-13 for 2026.
Bowles gets fired, we hire a new coaching regime, and draft a QB to lead us into a new chapter.
Careful there red816, you might be labeled a moron with such a negative prediction.
he didn't blame Licht either. Here comes JC!
"Big prediction for the offseason: With help required at inside linebacker, the Bucs will steal Kaden Elliss from the rival Falcons in free agency. He would be perfect in those Bowles blitz packages after 3.5 sacks in 2025."
This is not a referendum on Licht, and yes they chose Licht over Harbaugh. But it's also true Licht was the one advocating for Bowles to get his extension which is the reason Bowles is the HC next year. Licht isn't going to be fired if Bowles fails, but it won't be one of the highlights of his resume.can’t see this is a referendum on Licht.
lol, he put his own name on the dotted line with Bowles so hardly a referendum. There is reporting that the Glazers choice LICHT (not Bowles) over Harbaugh
Licht isn't going to be fired if Bowles fails, but it won't be one of the highlights of his resume.
I think that Licht has a tremendous amount of goodwill with the Glazers, but I wouldn't be so sure about that BECAUSE it wasn't DOOR #1 Harbaugh or Bowles, it was DOOR #1Harbaugh "no" or DOORS #2 other head coaching candidates . . . "no" or DOOR#3 Bowles with mostly new staff "yes." That skipping cright past DOOR #2 to choose DOOR #3 puts Licht way out on a limb for Bowles, even with all the good will.
The one caveat to that would be something like $ being the actual motivator. Licht would get a big pass for that. Free agent period should be telling. if Licht is way out on the limb with Bowles then you'd expect some significant moves. If they go all draft-ish (the 2022-2025 model) some eyebrows should go up about the whole thing lmao
Or maybe for someone like LaFleur they go back to Door #2 lol

Rams would have smoked us up. They own Bowles and they just lay down and die.
I don't follow your logic
this game is classic NFL and as much about the Rams shooting themselves in the foot repeatedly
my point was that fans always have it both ways. Winning the division to get to the playoffs was somewhere between meaningless (Biggs, of course) to not enough but now we are not in the playoffs and you're watching a team that IF it was the Bucs would have those same fans shitting on the Bucs (the Panthers now) and the division even as they are in it until the 4th quarter.
in reality, winning the division matters and is a legit accomplishment in any NFL division and this game (so far) is why.
I don't think it's "meaningless" I think many thought by missing it, it would ensure Bowles gets fired.
So we ended up with the worst of both world. Missed the playoffs..won the last game so we dropped 5 spots in the draft, and we retained Bowles.

now yes but there are two ways to look at it.
many people posting here are cumulative anger fans lol. They started with "Bowles killed Brady" and a Super Bowl team and so they've been crushing him and calling for his head every year as he wins division championships
Those fans are on nuclear hot because he finally actually deserved to be fired and was not. Lmao.
I think that APPROACH is insane. Proof of that is that it made some of them say "playoffs don't matter " ROFLMAO.
ANYWDT, the Bucs start the 2026 season way on the outside looking in. Let's see how they do STARTING from there. Their starting position is on Licht and much as Bowles now.
What are your expectation for the Bucs 2026 record TODAY
The point of the thread. What is your view today moving forward from here
I think we have to see who the OC is first. Then I could make an early prediction. I'm thinking they'll have difficulty hiring good coaches, but if they do hire an experienced OC that would be an encouraging sign. What are your expectation for the Bucs 2026 record TODAY

expectations?
you can‘t have any with bowles.
if we get a good OC, as coen was, and if our division stays as it is (it sucks), then we might go with winning record and win division, but only because of the offense, tod bowles defense will never work
I think a ton depends on the coordinators that get hired and their ability to run their side of the ball. As much as I wasn't happy about the organization retaining Bowles (because I think it is a mistake), I also would not want to spiral the organization into a freefall of constant changes at the HC position. I think those teams that do that are destined for losing.Resist the urge to give a smart ass response lol. Leave the pouting, DEI nonsense out. heaven forbid, one thread immune for trolling!
What are your expectation for the Bucs 2026 record TODAY when there is so much uncertainty and all we really know
1. Bowles stays
2. Most staff fired
3. unclear who the new staff will be
4. unclear if Evans or LVD return
With that level of uncertainty what would you expectation be for the Bucs record in 2026 and/or the outcome of the 2026 season? We'll see if anyone modifies their expectation as we go along through the offseason. hiring of coaches etc.
Dont try to set Bowles and the Bucs up for failure ("derp . . . anything less than 10-7 . ."). What do you actually think as the Bucs sit here now?
I will say 7-10 and Bowles is fired or retires at the end of the season. As we sit here today.
I am going to say 5-12. Bowles fired at the end of the season. Licht also fired is my prediction.
Not crawfishing, but, I am also going to say that 5-12 can easily turn to 10-7 with the right coordinators but I also think 10-7 isn't winning the division next year. I do think they have some real holes that must be addressed on the field either through coaching/preparation or new personnel. D-Line has to find a way to get to the QB and create pressure situations to help the back half. Linebackers have to play faster. DBs need to blanket their receivers. On the offensive side, better offensive creativity. Baker has to protect the football. O-Line hopefully comes back healthy and the organization addresses the Guard position.

Great post.
This thought was part of creating this thread:
5-12 can easily turn to 10-7 with the right coordinators
I didnt really think about the second part you raise, that 10-7 might not win the divisions. Thats a good point. Who knows what happens with the division next season?
Interesting offseason and then season ahead. If youre right that Bowles and Licht both have their jobs on the line then we should get the best out of both of them. Will it be enough?
FWIW there is an article in USA Today that speculates that Kubiak would go to the Falcons as OC and McDaniel to the Browns as HC
Hard to imagine the Bucs could lure McDaniel here because he will have a couple HC opportunities.
I thought the Panthers were one year out as they needed a little more talent on defense but they are further along. They will add more talent to the defense and they extended Evero who is the best DC in the division and a top flight coordinator in the NFC. As a side tangent having Evero, Mac, and Saleh come into the NFC makes the conference a lot more tougher from a defensive game play perspective. Anyways also right now it looks like Canales is also the best o-coordinator in the division. It could be argued that if given enough time Moore will be the best offensive coordinator in the division.
But the Saints are where the Panthers were in 2024 season this past season, and by 2026 season they will compete better when they too infuse more talent on defense like the Panthers did. Saints will also bring in more talent that is suited for their new schemes on defense and also add more weapons on offense for Shough.
I think the Panthers and Saints will only improve for 2026 and I do not see a down year for either team.
Now onto the Falcons because the talent they have assembled on defense is the best in the division but the flipside is that their offense has issues. If they hire the right HC that can fix that offense then the Falcons will be the best team in the division quickly. But the downside is that they have to contend with tough choices with the salary cap and no first round pick but they do have at least 50 players under contract.
Also losing Pitts means they have to address WR/TE because those units will drag down the rest of the team as the modern NFL requires you have multiple threats at WR and TE.
As for the Bucs they have an offense that is basically turn key ready. Bredeson is on the final year of his contract so maybe the Bucs opt to draft a guard to compete with him at LG but also provide needed depth. Maybe also draft a TE or see what they have with Durham/Culp combo which looks promising.
But the Bucs defensive front seven looks to be the weakest in the division now and that has to be addressed.
