Look at his girlfriend....need anymore reason ??
Sander is an idiot. Pretty much tuned you out once you cited him as a source.
I don't see how anyone could not be impressed with what Glennon displayed given the circumstances. Yes every team has to deal with injuries but come on- he was throwing to Skye Dawson and Chris Owusu. We were using long developing routes with the oline playing like crap and an inconsistent running game. A report someone else posted in another thread (sorry I don't remember who or I would give credit) showed that Glennon had one of the highest air yard totals and one of the lowest YAC. Nobody would look good in that situation and yet Glennon managed to look pretty decent. That's not even factoring in that he was a rookie that did not get starter reps in the offseason.I believe 100% that he has earned the right to get another year. I think he will be a very good QB in this league.
Steady. Composed. Decent arm. Tall. Decent pocket mobility for his build. One year of experience.
It sounds like your trying to convince yourself.
My opinion is to start throwing around words like "earn" a player has to either play well on the field (not just make people think he might) or beat out another player or two who has demonstrated he (they) can play well on the field. I don't think Mike Glennon has done either. I agree he didn't completely poop on himself in a less then ideal situation. I just don't want a guy I have to keep making excuses for. Or someone who has to have a dominant offense around him to perform at a level that moves an offense and wins games. We kind of just went through that. I'm hoping for a guy who raises the level of all the other players around him. I sure didn't see that from Mike as a rookie, but only dumb fucks play developmental quarterbacks in their rookie seasons. So I do give him some passes for incompetent coaching.

The bolded part is exactly what we'll get if we draft a first round QB this year. Whichever one we get (assuming we get one) you'll hear all the excuses for at least the next 3 years, and we'll be obliged to stick with that QB because we invested a high pick in him. Quite frankly we heard it all with Freeman, and were eventually left with egg on our faces, in steps Glennon who did a decent job and folks want to get rid of him instantly. I'm all for competition, but drafting a QB in round 1 isn't competition, it's an anchor that you are stuck with for at least 3-4 years. As for the second part of your comment, that is exactly what a majority of the NFL rely on, only a select few teams have a QB that carries the team, and one of those got spanked badly in the Superbowl this year.

He is. That was a 100% Schiano pick. Glennon is to QBing as Schiano was to HCing the Bucs.
I saw a guy who was going through his progression extremely well for a rookie, not locking on to one player or one half the field, and was accurate in everything other than deep go routes, which he got better at as the season went on. Also someone who was taking command of the huddle, and making pre-snap reads, all of this while being a rookie was mega freaking impressive to me. I got the sense that he is probably one of the smarter dudes in the league in truly/hopefully a kid who's going get better every year, and we;ve already heard enough about how great his work ethic is. I also saw that none of this paid off for him in 2013 because of the receivers and Mike Sullivans garbage system where Glennon has to wait for the WR to decide how he's going to adjust pretty much and they were never open (noticed this as a real issue, and not an excuse when I attended the two games I went to). From what I saw from Glennon myself, and what I learned about Tedfords offense, Mike Glennon is gonna shock a lot of fans here next season.
Saying someone needs a better supporting cast and saying they need a dominant supporting cast are two different things. Even the greats need a little help.I'm not opposed to some competition for Glennon, but if we spend our first on a QB then there is no competition. Who was the last QB picked in the top 10 that didn't start day 1?
If Glennon had a coaching staff willing to gameplan to his strengths (quick-read, decisive decision-maker, strong and accurate arm) instead of forcing him into running for his life behind a so-so O'line while waiting for long-developing routes to come open, he'd have had a much more productive season. As it was, he STILL managed to be the best rookie QB of last year's draft. And that's with limited time in TC (if any) with the starting team. I wonder how many W's Peyton Manning or Tom Brady would've had in a Bucs' uni with the SAME teammates and coaches Glennon had last season... I find it very doubtful the Bucs take a QB early in the draft; we have way too many other holes to fill; there are no Andrew Luck's in this year's draft. The college success of these 'top' QBs in this year's draft are not being realistically translated to an NFL level by the casual fans, hence the resulting Glennon-bash-mania...
Very well said. :)

11-13. The only coaching staff in the league that was willing to sink a season by giving Glennon all pre-season reps and blaming the 0-3 start on one player. THOSE coaches wanted Glennon as the starter, that automatically disqualifies Glennon. I actually would be for a release of Glennon.
Look how good of a season Wright had. Why? Because he and Glennon developed a chemistry during camp and the preseason since they were both relegated to second string. I would like to see what Glennon can do after having a full ofseason to build a chemistry with the first stringers.
I'm not pro Glennon, I guess I am more not anti-Glennon. Why?1. Good accuracy. He showed the ability to throw the ball to where he wanted it to go. He didn't always make the right reads but what he did read he did throw to the right place. I think this more than anything shocked me because I thought coming out he was FreemanEsque. 2. Good decision making. He didn't throw a ton of picks. 3. Good enough arm. He isn't a cannon but he has enough to get by.4. Good production for a rookie. That rookie thing gets lost and no one thought he was an NFL ready prospect really. Toss in the chaos of the team, the suck coaching and the lack of help on offense and it was like the team carried him. The major knocks on him are either wrong ( he just dink and dunks) or misinterpretations (second half). He has issues with pocket awareness at times, he missed some reads. Both of those to me are more a function of comfort and familiarity with the offense than anything else. I fear his ceiling is Dalton and not Rodgers for example but he didn't show he was awful.

Spoken like a true freepologist.

Nailed it!
