After watching both of their respective press conferences and looking over the roster I can make an educated guess as to what these two coordinators will want to add to this team. Lets start with the defense because it is a lot easier:1. Defensive end: Clayborn, Gholston, Bowers, and Means is an alright collection of talent. But for this defense to come to form and take advantage of the pressure McCoy provides a DE is a top priority. In fact, I think the Bucs not only sign a free agent DE but also draft one.2. Mike/Nickle LB: Frazier feels that the Bucs have some of the pieces in place (David, McCoy, Revis) but stressed the importance of a nickel CB which is essentially a starter and an assistant coach entirely responsible for nickel DB's, This implies that a coverage LB is a must for nickel situations as well to line up next to David. Don't forget that the Bucs have three of their LB's as UFA's so I expect the Bucs to sign a FA LB and probably draft a LB late to compete at SAM/MIKE or a backup spot.3. Nickel CB: Lovie and Frazier will have Marmie coaching "nickel backs" and Frazier feels that a nickel back has to be starting quality in this league. Banks he feels seems like a good fit on the outside because he can come up in run support and play in space. But the Bucs don't have a nickel back of that caliber that Frazier describes so I expect the Bucs to sign one in FA to be a "starter".Next up is the offense and Tedford wasn't as forthcoming but we can still make an educated guesses:1. Speed on the outside (WR, RB): Basically if the Bucs are to run WR bubble screens or HB screens they need guys that can attack the perimeter. MW and Jackson can do WR screens but they are not burners. Also for slot play you need a high twitch guy so this is where speed will be important. I expect the Bucs to bring in a quick or speedy WR to compliment Vjax/Mwill. Martin, Rainey, and James will be a good trio I believe in this scheme and can catch the ball. But a burner/KR/PR is missing from the group to round it out. Demps? Who knows? Dexter McCluster would fit the bill if you ask me.2. Running the football: He made it clear that the Bucs will run the football whether it is inside runs or outside runs or even traps/sweeps. This will require the Bucs to bring in an OL or two given these three factors: 1, Nicks situation is uncertain and Tedford doesn't know his status (or so he claims) 2. Meredith and Larsen are unrestricted free agents, 3. Bucs have little or no depth if Meredith and Larsen are not re-signed. Tedford did not talk about the other OL but for his offense to work and protect the QB the OL will most likely be shored up. 3. He will fi the offense based on the personnel he has to work with: Well the Bucs have personnel for the running attack and perimeter game with Vjax/mwill. But a TE that can attack the seem or a slot WR is non existent on this roster. Those areas will probably be addressed to round out the roster.4. QB position: He felt Glennon did some good things bu there are areas where he can improve (mechanics). He also said that he need to hit the weight room and also focus on having a quicker release as every little bit helps. He like Glennon moving around and creating different launch pads. But he feels he has a lot of room for improvement (mechanically). The impression I have is that the Bucs will probably lean on bringing a veteran QB first. Drafting a QB may be a possibility however, but not something they plan on. It looks like they want a second look with Glennon in a different offense and with speeding up his mechanics.
Tedford said twice I believe that he wanted "speed in space". That's music to my ears. It's about time we didn't shy away from Randall Cobb type players.

This would be the most prudent route to take.

I think they want to see Glennon in his second year, away from the circumstances from last year, heading into the off season as the lead guy, weight training, and speeding up his decision making/delivery/footwork. Up tempo or change of tempo is something that Tedford also highlighted and how clock management matters more in the pros.
Mccluster. Interesting. Free agent. Largo. Wonder if he comes home.....
Tedford said he could help with Glennon transforming into a "quick twitch" guy. Personally, I think Glennon is very capable of this, as in Sullivan's offense the QB has to wait on the receivers to do their reads and get into their routes, which obviously causes the QB to take longer to throw, as he doesn't always know exactly where the receiver will go. Glennon is gonna feel like he's died and gone to heaven with this offense...
Means hopefully we won't shy away from drafting offensive players like Dom has.

What I thought was interesting was when Frazier spoke no mention of Revis when referencing a cover corner who can tackle in space on support the run...But mentioned the scheme and both McCoy and David being the quintessential fits for for the scheme that will be implemented. Then a reporter asked about Banks...I think the prudent thing would have been to ask directly about Revis in his abilities and fit in the scheme..
That's a lot of holes to fill. Wonder which ones will be the priorities--where we get good players as opposed to just improving the positions. Interesting read.

read again thats who he is talking about
Yeah we need a veteran CB BADLY. I've been saying this since last off-season that we should have signed another CB even with the Revis trade. Tim Jennings would've been perfect for this defense but he signed a nice extension with the Bears. Terrell Thomas, and Verner.
Things I took away from their comments..1. We like glennon from what we've seen of him, but we aren't sold.2. Mccoy and david are very safe. As we would've guessed.3. We aren't showing our hand in draft. Qb, maybe de. We like both.4. Allen will come here if we can get him. Respect.5. Revis is a really food corner, maybe the best ever. ......someone want to trade? (Speculating)6. Wtf did schiano do here?7. Coordinators have power to do their jobs.8. We will be a lot like the bears.9. They study a lot of tape.10. We're going to get the system in as fast as possible.
I'm just not buying the Revis not being a fit. Peanut Tillman did A LOT of man to man during Lovie's last couple of years.
True sunny, they could definitely use him. However, to them it might be a question of value vs. usage. They could get a first for him with NOTHING to hold them back. No money, nothing. Sure he CAN play in lovie's system, but he doesn't NEED to. Personally, I would keep him, but in a predominately zone coverage defense, his use may be somewhat limited (like we saw with schiano's zone crap).Point is, it might just be too tempting for lovie not to sell revis off. A first coming up would allow us to get whoever lovie wants. Maybe even a qb AND de.To me, that's a tough one.
