If each side of the ball takes the next step, there will be some exciting football in Tampa.
Its going to be necessary to take that step, on both sides of the ball.
Agree. The Bucs should be very competitive and exciting to watch this coming Fall despite the challenging schedule.
but they were pretty formidable and much improved in their 6-2 finish to the season including playoffs
As was the defense, including holding opponents to 18 points or less in 50% of those aforementioned games, including a few holding teams to less than 10 points twice and a complete shutout.
For sure, the whole team was firing in that 6-2 run
for some reason the Panthers had our number on defense in which we only scored a combined 30 points in 2 games. The defense definitely won those match-ups
The impressive 29, 34, and 30 point games against Atlanta, GreenBay, and Jacksonville - hard to take away form the offense there!
the saints game, offense was trash
Eagles victory 32-9 - throwing out our 2020 superbowl year, this was my most enjoyable win in the last 3 years. Dominating on all facets
The Lions 31-23 loss
it was 10-10 at the end of the half and 17-17 at end of three. I dont recall exactly but i remember a few lions drops saving us on defense.
then heading into the 4th
Lions drive 75 yards for a touchdown, we go three and out
Liosn drive 89 yards for a touchdowns to fall 31-17
we answer with a 75 yard touchdown. for some reason go for 2 because of "analytics"
force a punt, and get ball back with 2 minutes having to drive 90 yards and get 2 points as well. interception on 2nd play
but still, could have called a time out because Dan Campbell is a bone head and a missed field goal away from driving 60 yards for a touchdown. Unfortunately we also have a bone head head coach

i hope you are right. alot of question marks
Edge - Can Diaby take next step? Wouldn't even question if JTR can have a contract year because that's slim to none. Braswell wasn't a full time guy in college so not sure how much we rely on him this year?
Cornerback - awfully slim depth here and Dean scheduled to miss 4-5 games
ILB - you would have to think eventually farther time gets LVD. It even got Brady. While Brady still posted a formidable year in his only losing season as a pro, nobody was mistaking him for MVP like his first 2 years in Tampa. hopefully not this year for LVD? After him, can Britt or Dennis be full time starters?
QB - while Baker Bros unite, this guy has had a roller coaster of a career. We all are rooting (well 95% of us) for him to build off of last year and become that 40 TD guy that we can rely on to win us some games. But is there a chance he is flames out this year and we are looking for a new solution in 2025. Absolutely.
All valid points/concerns. Watching it develop will certainly have some excitement attached to it.If each side of the ball takes the next step, there will be some exciting football in Tampa.

Playing a first place schedule for the 3rd year in a row has become consistent, looking forward to seeing if the players at these key positions can take the next step.

It’s ALWAYS enjoyable beating the Eagles. Especially, in the playoffs.
This year should be an interesting one.
Let’s see if our defense can continue its Top-7 pace. And, hope to see our offense advance beyond the bottom half of the league.

agreed
“NFL Network's Adam Rank made a full prediction of the 2024 NFL season, going through each team's schedule to create his simulation for 2024. His schedule predictions were strange for a number of reasons, but it's particularly wild where he had the Bucs — he predicted that Tampa Bay would finish a staggering 6-11 in 2024.”

6-11 would not surprise me.
we likely should be in the same range we've been the last 2 years under Bowles but could i see the team take a step back, for sure.
not hard to imagine
can 6-11 happen? One scenario is below where we loss all of the games we may be not favored in, plus lose on the road to the Giants and split with the likely improved Panthers
week 1 - Commanders - WIN
Week 2 - @Lions - LOSS
Week 3 - Denver - WIN
Week 4 - Eagles - LOSS
Week 5 - @ATL - LOSS
Week 6 - @NO - LOSS
Week 7 - Ravens - LOSS
Week 8 - ATL - WIN
Week 9 - @KC - LOSS
Week 10 - vs 49ers - LOSS
Week 11 - @NYG - LOSS
Week 12 @ CAR - LOSS
Week 13 - LV - WIN
Week 14 - @LA CH - LOSS
Week 15 - @DALLAS - LOSS
Week 16 - CAR - WIN
Week 17 - SAINTS - WIN
Now, i'm suggesting, we beat the Panthers, Giants to get us to 8-9 and that should be our floor. Really would be nice to flip 2 more. Can we make any of the other losses into wins - such as Chargers, Eagles, etc? it's anyone guess. But for a team that has been .500 the last 2 years, their key guy (Evans) is on the wrong side of 30, a rollercoaster of a career QB, and relying heavily on an in experienced secondary and pass rush; yeah i can totally see 6-11....but i am predicting 10-7, division title as the positive thinking guy i am!
Anything less than return to the divisional round should be considered a failure.

Yes. Agreed. Another playoff birth would have Bowles keep his job however as the expectations aren't high and the Falcons got much better.
they go 6-11 and Bowles may be out. Mayfield too.
20. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
There is significant potential on the defensive line for Tampa Bay, but far more potential than guaranteed production. Vita Vea is by far the group’s best player, and even Vea doesn’t consistently match his highlight reel. Fourteen defensive tackles earned a better PFF run-defense grade than him last season, and 39 notched more pressures, including 355-pound nose tackle Michael Pierce.
Calijah Kancey has big-time pass-rushing potential inside, while Randy Gregory, Yaya Diaby and Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, along with rookie Chris Braswell, could all generate pressure.
An early season slump has also been discussed here as has Mayfield coming back down to earth. Similar to this analyis that has the Bucs finishing 6-11
"Rank doesn’t believe there will be any surprises this year as he has the Bucs with double-digit losses, finishing 6-11.
Rank predicts the jet lag the Eagles will have from traveling to Brazil to open the season against the Packers will finally catch up with them in the heat and humidity of a late-September game in Tampa.
(Somehow, Rank expects the Bucs will be coming off a home loss to the bumbling Broncos in Week 3.)
Like last year, Rank believes the Bucs will have a mid-season slump. After beating the Eagles at home in Week 4, Rank has the Bucs losing six of their next seven games which will doom them, he forecasts.
In the Monday night game at Kansas City, Rank says, “I think it’s safe to say that’s a loss.”
“I think last season was special for Baker Mayfield,” Rank said. “But I think it’s going to be a struggle this year and I have the Bucs for six victories.”
