a Pittsburgh feel?
Agreed. Horrible comparison.
There's a reason why the oddsmakers have him with the 6th best odds on getting canned this offseason.
Bowles is a mismatch with many fans current perception of the “successful” model for an NFL head coach.
Also, in a world where fans don’t generally change their views Bowles is to some the coach who dragged Brady down, as Badabing sort of describes. He’d need way more style points to overcome that so last season is understandably not getting him there.
Tough gig being an NFL HC!
a Pittsburgh feel?
Tomlin's first two seasons as a first time up and coming head coach-
I think he meant organizationally? Tomlin has been buoyed through limited playoff success by goodwill and, probably more importantly, an institutional philosophy that the Bucs seem to share more so now than in the past.
@badabingbucs I should have clarified what I meant: ‘Pittsburgh Feel’ = more from the type of organizational restructuring - not so much from a team performance aspect.
Exactlya Pittsburgh feel?

That Pittsburgh organizational model has a defensive head coach at the top - they may change the OC - but everyone knows who the HC is going to be.Bowles is a mismatch with many fans current perception of the “successful” model for an NFL head coach.

It’s successful in that it’s usually competitive, as long as there’s a solid QB behind center.
And it’s usually competitive in a tough AFC division.
It’s just an observation, but if true, it’s good to have a vision and provides alignment. We’ll see.
it has a Pittsburgh feel to it now.
Licht seems to agree:
"The longer you work together, as you know, with your coaching staff and your personnel staff, the better relationships you have and the more trust we have in each other.
“Right now, I would say we are at an all-time high with the trust factor.”
We are an A1 org i can say, there is no dysfunction and guys our in sync. The guys we bring in are high character guys, we just need that little bit of edge here and there and I think Mayfield can bring that. As long as we stay focus through the season and not fall into our lull mid season we have a capable roster to get double digit wins every year

Still have to produce, but as I think White Tiger has mentioned a couple time the team has a real culture to it that extends from the GM to the HC to the Practice Squad.
Still don’t have a lot of confidence in a couple areas: starting a rookie at center (even a massive, mobile athletic stud like Barton), will likely result in some inconsistency when he faces NFL starters & starts seeing some scheme complexities - beyond having some solid starters in the secondary, relying on some developmental players there - and what looks to be a breakout edge season for Yaya, we have JAG’s on the the other edge - also not impressed with ST kick coverage.
Those holes don’t look filled-in yet, which kind of sets us up for that same mid-season lull…hope not, but factoring in the schedule, and an injury at a position where we’re thin, and we will have to rely on the offense.
All-in, I think we will be much improved, I’m still thinking 9-8, but at times I start leaning 10-6.
Cant wait to get this season started!
