I think the defense is still a work in progress with what I am seeing but ironically the rookies like Roberts, Morrison and Parrish are not the problems on defense. LVD this week was a little bit off while Dennis not so much. LB play is probably a weakness now but it will improve.
But Reddick and Diaby can do more because I think they are better than average. We will see as the season progresses but at some point they are going to have to find a way to integrate Watts or Braswell into the rotation as change ups and fresh legs.

it has to. Yesterday's film is tomorrow's road map.
LVD just looked off, tired maybe. Age maybe. Dennis looked lost often.
I am confident that Caldwell will sort this out with LVD and Dennis. Foote is doing the best he can with this edge guys and they are playing solid football but we need Diaby and Reddick to be dominating out there. Still, Diaby and Reddick are still x factors team have to account for but at some point one of them needs to turn it up for this defense to really take off.
We know the Bucs have an extensive blitz package with Parrish, Winfield Jr, Smith, McCollum, Dennis, Izien and LVD. I see the flashes of brilliance from Reddick and Diaby but I want to see more.
IF I was to make a guess that is why Foote is not pulling Diaby and Reddick off the field because he can see they are improving bit by bit with each game early in the season. The ends football conditioning and the backend looks to be improving.

agreed
just looking back at it we have a number of middle of the line sacks. Do you think some of that is having Reddick and Diaby outside? I know that LVD's late sack yesterday was just that, but havent looked at the others.
Still, agree that they need their own production.
5.) Team wasn't in game shape for the heat.
With temps on the field at 120-130 degrees during the game (per Fox broadcast), I don't know why the NFL doesn't schedule Bucs' home games at 4 o'clock during September, or even at least one Sunday night game. if not for a more entertaining game, at least for the safety of the players.
We've said this for years and yet they don't listen.
Bowles should be pissed at himself. It's not let Jets have a deep threat. We also got bailed out by a drop on 4th down.
He didn't protect the sideline. It's just simple 101 football if you're gonna bend don't break then make them eat clock across the middle.
Bowles is at his worst when it matters most. It's a miracle we won these games.
Falcons moved the ball well vs us and Panthers shut them out.
Texans probably should have had 28 vs us and Jaguars shut them down almost all game.
Jets with a backup still managed to score 4 times + the specials teams TD.
These were not good offenses... Bowles' defense is certainly "better" because we have better corners and an edge rusher BUT it needs to be better when it matters most.
Falcons had some injuries also I don't know if that makes any difference but it's something to add to the thought process.

Not enough to get shut out by the lowly Panthers. Penix's head was on a swivel

True. We went to the Miami game on Oct 10th in 2021, sat on the home side, and the heat/humidity was brutal even then.
i like the unis.
Grizz is doing fairly well considering the OL only has two starters playing right now, and no actual OTs.
Our STs are not good
