Camel Light under the bench at the old Sombrero, finished off a can of Stroh's, put on his helmet and went on to the field to play WR for his Daddy's NFL team, we were officially at a point in franchise history that I never dreamt we would come close to again. Hell, I was only like 6 years old and I remember thinking "wow, this dude with the same name as my coach looks a little undernourished to be playing football........this is kind of f'ed up." Obviously the game has evolved since then but I do believe the last 4 years have been about as inept as any 4 years as any we have ever had. How is it that our culture is so frail, so timid, so brittle, that we can't put a competitive product on the field week in and week out. That's what irks me the most is we can't compete. I was pumped when they hired Lovie as I thought Barron, Banks and Foster were about to become household names. The Glazers thought they were getting Dungy II when they brought Lovie back but his stubbornness and personnel ineptitude has only managed to bring the offensive side of Dungy back to Tampa (bravo). If I owned an NFL team I would want to establish a culture of grit and I would want that culture to be a part of everything we do as a franchise on both sides of the ball. I know we slapped them around this year but I would model my franchise after the Steelers. They are most always competitive and mind the cap as well as anyone. Pathetic that after week 3 it was clear to anyone that was watching that the season was a wash and that there is seemingly no plan in place to get better. I wish the Glazers would sack up and figure this thing out. The Tedford debacle may even trump the Molly/MRSA shenanigan from last season. WE ARE A COMPLETE JOKE!
