Benjamin is light years from where he was last seasonHe was downright disappointing and lazy last season. the light came on this year and it shows in his production
His capacity to learn the offense sounds like his biggest hurdle. It doesn't matter how much talent a WR has if they cant learn the offense. If he can learn the offense then the sky is the limit for him. Need to be cautious about these types of players. Research must be done to determine if he failed those grades due to a lack of interest, or a lack of intellect. Right now, I am leaning towards drafting a pass catcher in round two. Either a TE or WR. I think if we don't trade up and grab a QB we need to draft OL in the first because we need a starter there.

You're right. He is lightyears away from 2012. But he isn't as good as Mike Evans. Could he develop into being that good? Maybe. But to say they are similar is a bit homerish. I assume you are a big FSU fan which is why you sound offended. But the truth is Benjamin ain't that good yet.

im not offended, I just disagree with your assessment of his abilityI agree that Evans is more polished at this point but considering the immense jump from 2012-2013 its not out of the realm of possibility that hes right there with him by the time the season starts. if hes provided the ability to be a pro full time and not have to worry about school there is a distinct possibility that he improves greatly in a short period of time. Evans will likely get drafted higher because hes been on the radar longer and has a larger body of work, but to think that Benjamin cant surpass him is a bit naïve. the combine will be very big for both of them. both have questions on speed and possibly separation abilityheres Evans draft profile http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draft/player/_/id/34120 KB hasn't had a detailed evaluation written up yet
Every year these guys with great size get bumped up way farther than they should be. No way in hell he is a better receiver than Watkins. He has outstanding potential, but he is super rough around the edges and he drops balls way too often. He is an idiot for not going back to FSU. He needs to develop more and with Winston under center he could have been a top 10 lock next year. Who knows where he'll end up going. Probably much higher than he should. At 6'6" 240lbs I think he really should be considered a TE anyways. He has the nastiness for it.
Benjamin had 30 catches for 495 yards last year and 54 for 1011 this year. Evans was 82 for 1105 and 69 for 1394. I think they are both big, physical, and athletic. I think the big difference will be mentally, speed and the hands of both players. Evans has a more proven track record and I think is a more dedicated worker. I also think he might have better overall hands. Benjamin though I think is faster overall. I think they are close, but I think Benjamin is much more of a boom/bust type pick whereas Evans is a safer pick but might not have as high an upside.

Not worry about school? That sounds like an excuse for his lack of consistent production rather than a reason why he'd make a better pro. Being intellectually impaired says to me he will have trouble picking up an NFL offense. It says to me that if he was a lazy student then he will be a lazy pro and won't put in the extra time and effort to learn the game at a professional level. If that be the case, and teams will find out, no thank you. It's Arrelious Benn all over again. All the talent in the world but just not quick enough to learn an NFL system. As far as their physical comparison and production, Evans is head and shoulder above Benjamin. If I had to rank the WRs in this draft Evans would be 2nd behind Watkins. Benjamin would be 4th behind Watkins, Evans, and Marquis Lee.
At best? 4th WR

If he has confidence in his ability, he's better off going out now and being a second rounder than returning and being a first rounder.
Nothing stupid about anyone coming out early these days. Better off coming out early, gets you out of the 5-year first round deal if you aren't a first and just brings you closer to your millions if you are a good player. Without the overloaded first contract of the past, the quicker you get started, the better your chances.

Yeah, coming out early and not being a first rounder puts you two years closer to that second contract.
Yeah...assuming you are good enough to get that 2nd contract. Do you know how many "great" players coming out of college never got a big contract after their rookie deals were up? It happens more often than you think. I think he'd be better off working on his craft and really getting into the first round next year and making a lot more money.
He needs a good combine with good interviews and a good pro-day. I could see him going anywhere from mid-1st to 5th round and I'm a HUGE Noles fan.MB has the tools to be great, elite even, but he's very raw and I'm not sure where his head is at.

Nearly 100 underclassmen declared for the draft this year, shattering the old record. Half those kids won't even be drafted. I'm not saying Benjamin won't be drafted, but it was definitely stupid to come out early for many kids. It's also stupid if you simply aren't ready. You are just setting yourself up to be a disappointment at the next level. For a guy like Benjamin, who has been lazy and underperformed up until this season, he could have definitley benefited from another year of hard work and dedication in college.

You said the same thing about Alshon Jeffery. This is a pretty good WR class. I think almost any analyst would put Benjamin behind Watkins, Evans, and Lee at the very least. I think I'd have Jordan Matthews ahead of him as well. Obviously, the combine will be very important for him.
