They can do better. IMO
Lorig is underrated.Watson is a beast on special teams, and Lovie's Chicago teams had great STs.Casillas is a good ST player as well and decent in coverage for a back up.

All fair points, but I would be in favor of bringing in some young guys, and who knows, maybe you hit a home run with one of them. I think we can safely say, those 3 you mentioned have pretty much topped out as far as their NFL career's goes.

Good point. I'll have to agree with you.
I like Watson. He's great on special teams and a good enough backup. It's not like he's going to break the bank. I'd like to see someone else starting at the SSLB spot though.
They can always move Foster to SAM and have a new Mike on defense.
Of the players listed: I bolded the players I believe should definitely be re-signed. Players that are borderline they are italicized. OrvolsokyLeonardLorigLarsenUnderwoodByhamMeredithLarsenDTNGibsonWatsonCasillasHawyardCutreraGorrerAdamsEconomosLindellTynesOther than Lorig, Economos, and Casillas/Watson.. the Bucs are not looking at any significant starters hitting free agency. However that could change if the Bucs make cuts. But based on this list you can see the Bucs will be targeting DE, CB, TE, WR, and QB in free agency. Probably o-line too.
I have excluded any player not bolded and green.....because they all suck!!!
Actually, I missed Hayward, he is a very good special teamer and backup.

We've spent the last 5 years plugging in young guys hoping they'd hit some home runs. Glad to see someone want to keep this same philosophy. Not me. At this point I want some solid capable backups. Unless the young guys are better coming in than these guys I want these guys around because we're going to have some "next man up" scenarios coming up and I'm tired of praying guys have home runs in them in games that count. I want production not gambles for a change. We've got enough holes that need filling that we can concentrate on; we don't need to throw away productive backups for younger gambles just because. Now, upgrades I can get behind but not let them go just gamble on a young guy.
Lorig - worth $800K/1MWatson - worth $1.5/2MCasillas - worth $1/1.2Mi like the Watson/Casillas combo at SLB but if it cost more than $3M for both, spend the money on a proven veteran... last year, Daryl Smith and Karlos Dansby got $2/2.5M one-year deal to sign with Baltimore and Arizona!wouldn't mind Economos, Hayward, Underwood, Byham, Meredith, Gorrer or Adams, only for vet minimum $$$...
I don't see anything wrong with offering them all contracts, we could always replace them once free agency and the draft go through.
you keep both Watson and Casillas. they both wont cost a ton to keep on the roster. we dont keep the SAM on the field that much anyway so its not worth investing a draft pick or paying a huge salary. Linebackers form the core of your special teams anyway so theyve got a role there. Watson has proven that he can be used to put pressure on the QB in 3rd and long. hes also blocked 3 or 4 kicks in that last couple of years. both are good enough that they dont hurt you when theyre on the field
Lorig is the most valuable player, get it done.

Speaking of ST studs...Hayward is the ST Captain. He needs to be brought back...he is also a damn good fill in when on the LB's goes down, he had a pretty big pass breakup in the Detroit game
