These days there is perhaps the widest array of "styles" of QB play I can recall seeing in over 50 years of NFL football. And the number of quality QBs continues to grow, and if prognosticators are right, we'll be adding several more this upcoming season. Some like scrambling QBs, some prefer pocket passers. While I doubt Mike Glennon is anybody but the most diehard Bucs fan as a favorite, I do like a lot of what I saw so far after 13 games. His head and heart, unlike Freeman's, is very much in it, and he's got the arm, although for my taste in QBs he needs some work there too. Personally, I LOVE watching Aaron Rodgers play the position. What sets him apart in my mind is how cool under pressure he looks, not as frenetic as Manning or Brees. And how quickly he gets from "decision to throw" to releasing the football is unparalleled today. The good news is we now got Rodgers' college coach for our OC. This should greatly accelerate Glennon's development. Really looking forward to this season!! Putting aside who you think is "the best" or who is on the best team ;D, which QB do you really prefer to WATCH on the field?
Brees and Brady. Brady is surgical, Brees is one of the best downfield passers I've ever seen.
got to be Brady, always wondering how he gonna pull it off with the people around him, and he always usually does. Man is not mobile or nothing, never see him choking in certain situations, he just gets it done. Brees is always 6 WR, and 4RB deep, take all that away plus his offensive line, then he is pretty much in trouble, (I cant stand that guy!....lol)
Agree with dal on this one....Brees is truly a marksman going downfield.....oyu almost never see him overthrow a guy deep unless he wants to so as to avoid the coverage. I can't stand anything that is New Orleans Saints, but the guy is just incredible. And to say that Brees would be nothing without his supporting cast, well, that could be said for most QB's. Would tend to understand the Brady situation--he gets it done regardless of who his pass catchers are----but I detest anything that involves the hoodie more than I detest the Saints.
I think it is fun watching Jay Cutler try to sling the ball around when he's getting shell shocked on almost every down. It's also entertaining to see him yell at his own guys and push them around on the sidelines.
Peyton will always be my favorite to watch. Brady would be a close second. I like to watch Freeman for laughs.
Brady he's the best short yardage back in the NFL just ask Collinsworth! All jokes aside Brady is a beast no other way to put it everything you want in a QB.
Yep; Brees is a mechanic out there for sure. The guy I really HATE but secretly admire... ;D
I also enjoy watching Aaron Rodgers. It is impossible not to like the guy.
Peyton and Brady are always amazing to watch. They are both probably top 5 all time, so it's a luxury to witness those two in action. Luck, Wilson, and Rodgers are probably the most interesting/exciting though.
Cue the "Johnny Football" posts
3rd String Kicker: "I think it is fun watching Jay Cutler try to sling the ball around when he's getting shell shocked on almost every down."Hopefully we can build something like that here.
i know its not your typical choice but Russell Wilson is very enjoyable to watch, the fact that he looks so small in front of his offense makes it better. always with a mentality to sling it downfield to his short WRs that are willing to go up and fight for the ball is very pleasant to watch.. but the what really puts me over the top is when he decides to take off and uses his pump fakes lol even the fans get fooled ;D..anyways it sounds like i have a fan crush on Wilson which i do but no one needs to know..lol… did i mention that i like watch mr. Wilson ?
Manning! Just a machineHowever: alltime favourite will always be Brett Favre. Just for on field personality...a QB that will always play between "genius" and "idiot" creates this in game emotion
Rivers. That guy loves the game. He isn't the "machine" type, either... Wilson is fun, too. Something about those NC State guys?
