In the past, we had players who appeared to enjoy Tampa’s nightlife scene during the season. Who are those guys on our current team?
I remember my twenties and understand the urge; nevertheless, clubs and private parties will bring the highest risk of COVID exposure. Weekly testing may not be sufficient for these guys. Heck, my roster decisions would probably be impacted for the 2020 season due to risk management.
I won’t be surprised if we hear about interesting approaches that teams/players take to manage this risk throughout the season... possibly approaches that have questionable ethics. When so much money and competition is involved, some executives/players may pursue pre-exposure “pragmatic” techniques over post-exposure corrective action, in efforts to minimize team exposure.
I believe history shows the powers of testosterone and socialization often overpower the motivations of group benefit and money for many individuals. The biggest challenges for the 2020 season may be off the field.
This has been one crazy year!
