one of the problems with schiano is he was enamored with close games. i dont think some people realized how freaking controlling this guy truly was.  his comments in the media about taking the foot off the gas and not playing to win the game are one of the biggest reasons along with adjustments this regime was fired.  the schemes were horrible, i think we were lucky to score ten points a game honestly.  a new staff who knows how to teach, run a real scheme on offense and defense and spot talent will go a long way here.  i believe these guys were put in a position to fail from the beginning, and looking back we could have won some of these close games but in reality games like detroit where we had five turnovers should have been blowouts , but greg was such a ignorant and stubborn ass that the score had to be close. do you ever see the great offenses take a break on someone? hell no, they put their foot on the opponents neck and finish it with no chance to come back. we lacked killer instinct and execution.

Like others have said Schiano was too busy shoveling down his double cheese burger and greasy fries to make adjustments. So while the opposing team was in the locker room making adjustments to what the Bucs were doing, Schiano and company just told Mike to do what he did in the 1st half.

Half time adjustments by coaches that know what they are doing?

+1 Yuup.

This is why I'd like to see Glennon in a scheme that isn't chuck n pray. Lets face it, no QB was going to succeed in our failure offense last year and for Glennon to put up the numbers he did is a plus point for him. Give him an offseason with a vet QB to actually push him in TC and in a scheme that is designed for the strength of the players, if he fails then look to get a QB in next years draft as I'm totally uninterested in any of the over hyped candidates of this years draft.

Well said.

Again, it isn't like we did something different in the fist half to shock most people. In other words, what were they adjusting to in 15 minutes they hadn't been adjusting for all week before the game?  I don't think the adjustments theory can explain the drop off -- especially not that dramatic a drop.

The problem with "last 5 minute stats" is that you have so few attempts any INT have a major effect -- sample size is awful.  Plus, last 5 can be more desperation than clutch comeback moments. Glennon for example gets hit hard for those 2 INTs in his first start in ARI.

Makes sense.  But a lot of the opponents were seeing Glennon for the first time, so it may have takin a half,  to figure out what he was incapable of doing, and concentrate on the things he could do to beat them.

I will never forget his reply to the question, Coach, why not run the hurry up all the time seeing Glennon seems to excel with it?Because we don't want to.
