So let's say a lot of people get their wish today and the Glazers fire Lovie Smith after a 2-15 record. Do you have any confidence at all that the Glazers would hire the right person to be our next head coach? I have absolutely none. The Glazers have a terrible track record for hiring head coaches and GM's, and even dates back to 2002. Don't get me wrong, Jon Gruden worked out for us, but even that move came as a result of a few debacles along the way. Follow me here:2014 - Glazers hire Lovie Smith (HC) and Jason Licht (GM)2014 - Glazers fire Greg Schiano (HC) and Mark Dominick (GM)2012 - Glazers hire Greg Schiano (HC) to work with Mark Dominick (GM). 2012 - Chip Kelly accepts the HC job, but turns the Glazers down to remain at Oregon, just to leave for the HC job in Philadelphia one year later. 2012 - Glazers fire Raheem Morris (HC) but retain Mark Dominick (GM)2009 - Glazers hire Raheem Morris (HC), who had no coordinator or head coaching experience in the NFL, and Mark Dominick, who had never been a GM in the NFL.2009 - Glazers fire Jon Gruden (HC) and Bruce Allen (GM) two weeks after season ends and just one year after giving each new 4-year contracts. Gruden was Tampa Bay's all-time winningest football head coach and won three division titles and a Super Bowl with the Bucs.2004 - Glazers hire Bruce Allen as new GM to replace McKay.2003 - Bucs GM Rich McKay mysteriously leaves the Bucs in November to take a job with division rival Atlanta. Not crying that McKay left, but this was a very strange ending to his tenure in Tampa Bay.2002 - Glazers trade four premium draft picks and $8 mill to Oakland for Jon Gruden. The trade took place in late February, yet we still managed to win the division and a Super Bowl.2002 - Glazers attempt to hire Steve Mariucci, but he turns them down.2002 - Glazers remove Rich McKay from the coaching search because they are unhappy with his decision to hire defensive minded coach Marvin Lewis. 2002 - Glazers offer Bill Parcells the HC job. He allegedly accepted it, and then turned it down.2002 - Glazers fire Tony Dungy, who had restored pride in the Bucs franchise and won games, but couldn't get the Bucs to the Super Bowl.1996 - Glazers made Tony Dungy interview three different times before finally offering him the HC job.If this doesn't look like incompetence, I don't know what does.
