We believe in Lovie Smith!!!There’s no way my family believes Lovie Smith will take Jameis Winston with the 1st pick in the draft. We don’t care what all the talking heads say or what all the Mock Drafts say or even what our favorite Bucs website, where we get all of our Bucs info, Pewter Report says. We believe in Lovie Smith and we don’t believe he would ever take Jameis Winston. Here are a few reasons why we believe this:1. Face of the Franchise –We believe Lovie would never trust Winston as the Face of the Franchise no matter what he said at the combine. Everyone says the next couple of months of interviews will go a long way into how the Bucs feel about Winston. Fact of the matter is Winston has been interviewing for this job the last 2 years and he has brought negative attention to himself and his team repeatedly. I believe the quote from a famous philosopher is “we are what we repeatedly do”. Winston has shown us who he is by what he has repeatedly done. We believe Lovie Smith sees this as well.2. Interceptions - We believe Lovie has said many times the one thing that his QB cannot do is turn over the ball. That is the one thing that changes the outcomes of games more than anything. Yet Winston threw 18 last year in college and everyone wants to make excuses for him, but they are what they are… INTERCEPTIONS!! Excuses don’t work in the NFL. We believe Lovie Smith will not overlook this.3. Weight Issue- We believe Lovie had to be very concerned that a competitive athlete knowingly going into a period of evaluation and scrutiny of everything , would have let his weight balloon up the way Winston did. He then lost 17 pounds to participate in the combine. When asked by a reporter why did he gain weight his simple answer was “I like to eat”. We believe Lovie knows that guys who ”like to eat” don’t eat less when they get paid millions.4. Shoulder Issue- We believe Lovie will listen to what his doctors tell him about Winston’s shoulder. We also believe that in the back of his mind Lovie will know that there is something that caught the doctors eye, no matter how little that something is.5. Two Sport athlete- We believe Lovie knows that whenever Winston was asked about his baseball career he never said I’m done with baseball, he only would say right now he is focused on being a QB only for the 1st time in his life. We believe the last thing Lovie needs to worry about in the future is his QB wanting to check out his options in baseball when things get rough or during contract negotiations or just for the publicity in it. We believe Lovie doesn’t need the headache that comes with that.6. False Bravado- We believe that Lovie saw what we saw during the combine press conferences and interviews. Winston has such a false bravado that once he struggles he will implode. We all saw a little taste of this during the Rose Bowl loss. We believe Lovie will see Jameis Winston as the next Ryan Leaf!!Whatever you do Lovie, we BEG you, please don’t take Jameis Winston and truly make my family embarrassed and ashamed to be Bucs fans. My Family and I believe in you, Lovie. Please, don’t let us down!!!
