Lol am I supposed to be impressed by that throw?
Against preseason grocery baggers?
Cmon.
It's a throw that any 2nd round pick should easily make.
Not impressed in the slightest, and that ball did not have velocity behind it.
That was a nice throw. Off balance, pressure, ball delivered on the money. Maybe it’s an easy throw for a 2nd rounder. But it was still a nice throw. I think trask definitely throws with wr anticipation. If he can anticipate the safety he will play fine imo.
I hated drafting him but am very happy with our QB room wrt the position the team is currently in
I just watched every run and throw from Georgia game his senior year.
What I liked:
Has a nice touch on the ball
Wheel routes and jump balls he throws an excellent catchable ball that talent can go up and get
He moved fairly well in the pocket, but was a little premature to move
A little more mobile than I gave him credit for
Wasn't afraid to check down and take what the defense gave him
What I didn't like:
Still doesn't throw with zip in tight windows. Lots of pass breakups because the ball took awhile to get there
Relies too much on the jump ball
Relies too much of YAC
Forced the ball... his pick was into triple coverage
Struggled at times to read and react. Too many first read wide open throws
Kyle Pitts is a beast

Well, that's a better analysis than "He sucks because he's a Gator."
I've said countless times that Gators have a shit ton of talent.
We just happen to draft their turds (VH3 and Trask).
I'm gonna be very interested to see if the Richardson hype becomes a reality draft day. I view him as a 2nd round pick but it looks like he's top 10 bound
I don't understand the hype about Richardson, either. He reminds me of Jamarcus Russell out of LSU. He can run fast and throw hard, but that's about it. Whatever team drafts him is going to have a lot of work to do to make him an NFL QB.
Well, you finally did some decent analysis. You really don't seem to have a larger view of him, though, because it's easy to show how good he is at putting a ball into a tight window. And I'll go on record right now stating that, unless AR figures out how to make the types of throws Trask does regularly and how not to panic in the pocket, Trask is far more likely to be successful in this league as a thrower. AR's legs may help him stick longer, ala Vick, but his throwing consistency sucks, and he tries to thread every pass into a receiver leading to a lot of drops, passes through hands, and picks.
Here's one of my favorite tight window passes, notably, again, moving in the pocket to avoid the rush. Puts it right out of reach of the defender.

AR has an elite cannon for an arm. No doubt. Trask doesn't, but he does have enough arm strength to make most throws in the NFL. Throwing the ball over 60 yards in the air is typically reserved for hail marry passes. He may struggle with throwing it past 60, but that's just not a skill you normally need at QB. To reiterate, and which I agree, the following are the positive bullet points on Trask from Walterfootball: Exceptional pocket presence, Deadly pocket-passing ability, Accurate passer, Good ball placement, Can beat good coverage with pass placement, Throws a very catchable ball, Quality arm, Good field vision, Works off his first read, Sees the field well, Intelligent, Pocket composure, Good decision maker, Good timing, Flashes anticipation, Able to loft in touch passes, Leads receivers for more yardage after the catch, Good internal clock, Hangs tough in the pocket, Toughness, Willing to take hits while delivering throws, Mastered his offense, Intangibles, Hard worker, Good character, Good fit for a west coast offense, Success against good competition.
Pretty good set of positives if you ask me. The negatives they list are: Statue in the pocket, Not a running threat, Needs to improve pocket manipulation, Struggles to avoid the rush, Can't bail out his offensive line, Enough arm but not an overwhelming cannon, Might be more of a game manager in the NFL.
I think his play at UF shows he's more than just a game manager. He makes plays. I also think the two links I've shown, show that he's really not a statue in the pocket. And he's worked on being even quicker and more mobile the last two years. Otherwise, I think they're on point. The bottom line is, I think you're exaggerating his negatives and just don't like the guy.
Many of those traits from Walter Football would seem a good match for Canales "QB as a point guard" style
That pass is picked or deflect 9 out of 10 times in the NFL.
A back shoulder throw on a crossing route into double coverage is not wowing me.
That's the type of throw you get away with in college.
No it's not. You're just projecting. He's had a couple of throws like that in the preseason and they weren't picked. The windows do get tighter and quicker, so you can't be late with the ball (where most college QB's struggle coming into the league), which means he has to play fast consistently (requires playing time), but he's one of the best anticipation throwers I've seen.
Again, in college that's a great throw.
In the pros that's a disaster throw.
Best anticipation you've seen? Now I know you've lost your damn mind.
He throws well with air under it; I'd call that his strength.
But anything that requires a line of precision he isn't good... he isn't even average.
So a west coast offense would expose him.
Let's just see if he can beat out Baker, then go from there. If he can, that's a good step toward making your point and giving us actual meaningful NFL film.
