The Bucs would have to trade the Steelers for his rights, but the Steelers get nothing if Tomlin doesn't coach until 2027. There won't be many teams looking to hire him midseason. The Steelers will have to be reasonable with their asking price or they'll get nothing. Â
Tomlin has been non-committal about his desire to coach again. There's no reason to believe he's ruling it out.Â
You think Tomlin is old and gray? He's only 54, a full 8 years and 4 months younger than Bowles.Â
Tomlin as a defensive coach could choose to retain the OC for continuities sake, at least for the rest of the year, and Robinson would be possible.
Licht was able to draw Bruce Arians and Tom Brady to the Bucs. Whatever he did to get those guys here, perhaps he can uses some of that same magic to bring Tomlin to Tampa Bay. Â
