I have really been trying to understand what there is to gain by putting up a smokescreen and drafting Mariota. Maybe a trade down, I can get that, but drafting Mariota at 1? Why? We pick first, we control our destiny, we don't need to worry about what anybody else in that top ten does. In the process we burn every single local and national media bridge we have. In the event we actually want to smokescreen in the future we basically put a big ass question mark on everything that comes out of OBP. To be honest I think we'd only further our place as the laughing stock of the NFL. Let's just burn bridges with everybody who writes about our team, and helps shape our image...Why? Because we canIf we had an orginization known for making good decisions I'd openly mock anybody willing to subscribe to this opinion, but the small bit of doubt that I have where I believe our orginization is run by mentally incapacitated individuals leaves the door open I guess.The image of Licht and Lovie high fiving in the war room after drafting Mariota being like "we fooled them all" is pretty damn lolzy tho.
