Would you trade a 1st, 2nd and say Kancey for Quinnen Williams who's under contract through 2027?
Abso-freaking-lutely not.
Interior OL will be death of this team. Needed two guards. Rams game will be ugly.
running the ball? So overrated.
just ask the Detroit lions.
The iOL being so bad is making Baker drop deeper, making it easier for edge rushers and harder for Wirfs and Heck. The Barton pick thus far is a disaster.

that one is hard to understand, especially from the likely mindset of this Bucs FO. I think that was the point of SR's quote posted earlier

I question if Barton looks so bad this year due to the fact that his LG and RG are barely above practice squad level.
Hmm… that’s not what Brian Baldinger has been saying?Interior OL will be death of this team. Needed two guards. Rams game will be ugly.

The line has been ripped up, shifted, etc. Don’t think we have enough data to say Bartonwas a wasted pick (quite the contrary), he’s been good at Center. The question is, could he be a fantastic NFL Guard?
Maybe, we’ll see if we do some line shifting at some point in the next few weeks.

Not that PFF is everything but yeah they have him pretty low... Eyeball test confirms. JPJ is again who I wanted and he isn't playing AMAZING per se but def better and he converted to guard from center.
Maybe Barton should kick out to tackle

Making excuses and trying to convince yourself he’s not a bad pick.
@jc5100 Excuses? He's in his second year, he looked decent in year one. The O-line is a shell of itself due to injuries. I'm willing to give him a bit more time before a label him a bust. Some players take time. Mauch was awful in year 1 and was much improved last year and the small sample size we had this year.

It’s worth noting that grade is cumulative and includes his time at LT, fairly or unfairly.
And yes, JPJ is having a tough time sticking at Center.
I would. Kancey is too injury prone. I'm over it. Williams was a top draft pick and he's lived up to it. He's under contract for a while. I'd trade for him and work on an extension right away. Of course Licht wouldn't do this.Would you trade a 1st, 2nd and say Kancey for Quinnen Williams who's under contract through 2027?

Ive been thinking about Barton at RT - but then Luke is pretty solid there. Why not try it while Luke’s out?Interior OL will be death of this team. Needed two guards. Rams game will be ugly.

Maybe Tackle or Guard?

Great point.

I was on the JPJ bandwagon as well. Although, to your previous point, I don’t know how much you can grade a 2nd year Center who has been deployed to LT, and back to Center, while the right side of the o-line has been decimated.
Guys who know line-play, who have played at a high level for a long time, have all commented on Barton’s performance.
Have to reassess after Goedeke gets back to the active roster.

I dont follow PFF much but how does his 2024 grade compare to now? Arent they fairly close, both being a little low?
As I recall he didn't have the best PFF grade even though the team ran wild and I think he was discussed as giving up only one sack?
I'd be inclined to wait things out until the line is more stable
Agree. Just thinking that with the incredible o-line adjustments in the 1st 4 games (individually & schematically), coupled with Mayfield’s scramble drills - this offense was able to produce a 6-2 record!?I don’t know how much you can grade a 2nd year Center who has been deployed to LT, and back to Center, while the right side of the o-line has been decimated.

It’s an accomplishment during ann injury plagued series of games that is almost unbelievable!
