I felt like it wasn't clear in the story whether all of the $200k in fines occurred while he was on IR  (which now seems to be impossible), or during the course of the year. Remember, the hamstring bothered him throughout 2013 - it's possible that he missed rehab (and/or meetings) before he was on IR.  People here and elsewhere (Bucnation/PewterPlank) that have been critical of the story seem to be focusing on all the wrong parts of the story. It's not really about instagram, the total number of fines, etc. It's that the GM who paid him a lot of money and the HC who was there at the time seemed to think that his behavior was becoming a problem.  That suggests to me that they saw links between what they were seeing off the field and what they were seeing on it (i.e. practice field, meeting rooms, etc.).

Agree.  I would be interested to see the timeline. When he was put on IR, after week 9 was it?  And when did these fines occur? Before or after?

Unless the article is poorly worded, the article states that the fines occurred over the last 2 months of the season indicating after IR.

Ya, after posting that, I did a little research, and Mike went on IR Oct 28th. After Week 8

Gotta wait and see what he does with the new regime. I know for a fact that he tried to play through his injury last year. Contrary to what Schiano thinks, players can have fun and be professional all at the same time. More than likely, MW19 just didn't want to deal with dumb ass Schiano. I don't blame him for that at all. He really needs to rethink this social media crap. It is hurting his career.

Yeah, it's the social media crap NOT the blowing $30 grand at a strip club.  Blowing $30k at a strip club is not a crime. People who make $7 per hour are probably outraged but if you threw all the players out of the NFL who spent thousands in strip clubs there wouldn't be enough players to field a single game. The only problem MW19 is going to have because of this is with idiots such as yourself. Which is why he should not have posted it on social media. Yeah, it is the social media that was causing him to miss appointments.  Like I said before if you had read it, I'm sure this is because of our former coach. I said we should wait and see what happens with the new regime. It's Instagram's fault!!!  WTF????Of course I didn't say that you did. It's MW19's fault for posting it.

Do me a favor and try reading what I say before you respond with your stupidity.

God, you're dumb. Your response just highlights the idiocy.  You make my point even stronger.  You reference the many players that blow money at strip clubs.  70%+ go bankrupt within 5 years of leaving the NFL.  That's being careless with their money.  They don't learn...they haven't learned.  Morons will always be morons.  They can't help it...kinda like yourself.  It is engrained in the very fiber of their being.  I feel sorry for them and the people like you that are ok with said behavior.

Bah. Same group that said blount, bennett, and talib didn't have their toes on the line.Same coach who bought revis and went zone coverage, but the year before he was playing man2man coverage with myron lewis, biggers, and lj.Same coach who couldn't say the truth, and got bitxhed out by a kicker's wife.I really would suggest everyone take info from them with a huge grain of salt. They didn't know wtf they were doing.

The effectiveness of their decision making process is not the issue here. The fact is that up until they got fired they were the ones that were going to make the decisions on the 2014 roster, and they were CONSIDERING MW not being on it for the reasons given. That being missed meetings and rehab. Now you can hate on Schiano and Dominik all you like and say their management sucked rocks, but if MW is in fact  doing these things it should still give cause for concern, AND it is something the new management team will STILL have to deal with.Blowing it off isn't going to make it go away.

Former team staff said Williams in particular was a mess. In the beginning of the season, Williams was struggling to get separation from defensive backs. He thought he was too heavy, so he started losing weight, and by the end of the season, sources said that Williams was too frail and didn't have the strength to fight off jams and re-routes. Williams also was said to be partying a lot at night, and as a result, he was falling asleep during meetings.

That quote, referring to former team staff, was from Jan 30, 2012...  Here we go again, http://www.bucsnation.com/2012/1/30/2758537/is-mike-williams-too-lazy-shades-of-michael-clayton

Knowing Schiano, he may have told Mike, I want you here every day.  And Mike may have said, F-you, I am on IR can do whatever the hell I want. And he would be well within his rights to do so.

That's bull.Mike Williams has always had problems with jams and it has nothing to do with 'weight".

SR cleared this up in the Fab 5 today in stating that the fines were from both before IR in terms of missing meetings and after IR in terms of missing scheduled rehab.

Read up guys. Players can't be fined while on IR per the new cba. Williams had his surgery in November and given all time tables, is about right on track. Surgery is usually only required on high grade tears which mean a few weeks of next to no physical activity, then light rehab if everything is going well. If Williams has been in rehab a couple weeks already, its not out of the question by any means he's right on track. Even if he had missed rehab, were talking about a week or two differnece here.More info I read the more I'm inclined to say PR may not be 100% accurate. The sources are named "previous regime" so there isn't much to base credibility off of. If he was really fined this past year, it was most likely from before the injury.

It shouldn't be. However, those guys made some moves that were absolutely stupid. All mw has done is get hurt and post retarded stuff on twitter. Schiano and dom GAVE good players away to a "friend."Do we trust either. No. But I damn sure wouldn't listen to anything that has schiano's name draped around it.
