(I have no idea if he actually did it, and obviously charges were not filed. So disclaimer - I am not going to get into that whole mess.) However, from a Buccaneer perspective, as a fan and season ticket holder... I am really not looking forward to having to listen to that crap all over CNN and ESPN for months after this woman files the lawsuit. And if anyone thinks she is not waiting until after he gets drafted and signs, they are crazy. She did not go through this to not seek damages against Winston. There will be a civil suit. And civil suits are very public. And Winston may try to settle...but maybe this woman doesn't want to settle. maybe she wants to tell her story in court.So you have a team at rock bottom. Really trying to get over the hump and right the ship. Trying to put together a cohesive team of solid guys, trying to avoid distractions and really get some team chemistry going, trying to bond as a unit, and trying to win back a community and a fan base. And all we are gonna hear about is this crap.Hey...maybe not. Maybe we will never hear a peep from her or any other accuser. I am sure that is what Mr. Jello Pudding Pop thought as well. But then again...do the Bucs want to roll the dice on having this cloud continue to hang over this franchise.My bet is they don't. Not in today's ultra-sensitive-to-sexual-assault NFL. I don't think Lovie wants to deal with it. And I don't think the Glazers want to deal with it. Maybe they would take it on with a no name 4th or 5th rounder who they could easily dump when things got too hot. But not with the first overall pick in the draft, who would become the franchise quarterback, and the face of the franchise. We are talking one of the most vilified high profile athletes to come out of college in a long, long time.
