During the off season a lot of people called Winston out about getting flustered in the pocket and not having a sense of knowing when pressure is coming... I even remember a few lazy Byron Lefty comparisons. It's good to see Jameis look good navigating a muddy pocket. There have been a nice amount of plays where Jameis steps up, rolls out, and escapes pressure with eyes downfield. He's never going to look as good doing it as Mariota, but it's nice to see he's athletic enough to make things happen. Also I think we saw this preseason how big a run game is for Jameis. You didn't see any wild throws last night. When he doesn't feel the need to make things happen, he doesn't press. Last night my favorite thing to see was how much control Jameis had over the huddle and line. Loved hearing him call out protections and than say "we good we good" lol. Just good to see the kid having fun out there. I still don't see us winning more than 6 games this year, but they are going to be a fun 6 games. Watching this kid grow is gonna be fun.
