Because thats what Mike is gonna be, get him Watkins and we'll start seeing consistent 25+ td's a year from Glennonedit* tbh Ryan has never scared me in this division but it was his weapons like Julio that did, I dont think Ryan can carry a team through the playoffs. Some of you guys are expecting elite top tier echelon qb play ala Mannin,Brees,Rodgers,Brady which can take years to come byI can settle with glennon's decsion making, and building a great D to carry us to through the playoffs like the good ole days
I don't know if Glennon is going to be Matt Ryan, Rich Gannon or Ryan Leaf at this point. But I believe the guy is intelligent enough to be a good quarterback and has a strong enough arm. Remember that Carr and Harrington looked good at one point as well, but once they started to feel the rush on every play they were done. Glennon started to feel some of that at the end of last season, the question in my mind is whether that is something that happened because the line was so bad and he can get over it or whether that was a upcoming problem. The only way to know for sure is for him to play in 2014.IMO, the jury is out, but Glennon has potential.
Matt Ryan got the nickname "Matty Ice" because he stays calm and collected and plays his best football in big moments. Glennon doesn't have that. Quite the opposite. Good luck with that comparison.

How do you rate someone's intelligence?
Well I wasn't specific referring to his comeback ability but the way he plays the game with functional mobilty and smart decison making, nothing too wow, tbh Ryan has never scared me in this division but it was his weapons like Julio that did, I dont think Ryan can carry a team through the playoffs. Some of you guys are expecting elite top tier echelon qb play ala Mannin,Brees,Rodgers,Brady which can take years to come byI can settle with glennon's decsion making, and building a great D to carry us to through the playoffs like the good ole days

How do you rate someone's intelligence?
From this: (wiki) Glennon completed his academic tenure at NC State with two degrees: a Bachelor's degree in Business Management and a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies, graduating on December 14, 2012. His GPA in the MALS program, which had an emphasis in leadership and sports management, was in the 3.8 range on a 4.0 scale. The curriculum included classes in financial management of corporations and investments and portfolio management. Also, there are numerous articles that speak about his football intelligence. Show me another quarterback in this draft that got two degrees at a 4 year college.

You need to read some of the Atlanta fan forum boards, not many of his fan's tend to use the 'Matty Ice' term, especially this year.
You said through the playoffs like the good ole days and great D..........What specific period in Bucs history are you referring to?
I can settle with glennon
That where I differ from many on this board. I'm never gonna be happy "settling" for Glennon or any other lesser QB. I want greatness at the quarterback position. Period. If that makes me unreasonable, so be it....but I'm not comfortable lowering our standards and settling for less.
Tired of settling for what's there..........bring in a proven vet that will utilize our offensive talent...........I'm not talking about Penn and his lameazz OL.

Just wondering Jdub which qb's would you take right now in the league that would be considered great
JDub, the problem is that 'greatness' isn't always apparent. When it is, it's usually very, very evident, like with Luck, but look at some of the other 'elite' quarterbacks: Brees, drafted (I think) in the 2nd round, cut by the Chargers after they picked Rivers in the 1st.Brady: drafted 6th round. His greatness was not apparently seen by anyone.Manning, Payton: drafted 1st, but the Colts struggled with the choice between him and Leaf.Luck: drafted 1st overall - generally thought as a 'slam dunk' by all NFL scoutsWilson: drafted in 3rd round - questions were about size and ability hold up in the NFLIn short, 'Greatness' is probably not readily apparent and may need to be groomed by the right system. I wonder if Brees would have been as good if he was signed by Miami instead of getting the chance to play under Payton in New Orleans? Would Wilson have got his chance or been as good as he was is selected by Schiano and developed in OUR system?JMO.
Mike is no Ryan and I'm not even that impressed by Ryan.To me Mike is that backup you never want to have to use because he will look good on paper and get fans who can't see past the stats but you won't win anything while he's out there.

Might has well settle for average huh.
