Anyone new to this board would have a hard time telling the fans from the trolls. I think it is just a bit unreasonable to expect greatness out of a rookie QB, when the general consensus is , the coaching sucked, the scheme sucked, the protection sucked, and the weapons (save for VJax) would be lucky to make the practice squad on any other team in the league.19 TDs and 9 interceptions in 13 games in a bad situation on a bad team is NOT a poor showing for a rookie who was thrown into the fire. Eli Manning had 3 times the number of interceptions and he's no rookie. I suspect that Tedford will get more TDs and fewer interceptions out of Glennon in a full 16 game season. A better scheme and a healthy team will help, along with a year's experience in a tough situation. A stronger defense should mean more opportunities. The Bucs might eve win a few games along the way. It's called a fair shake, and Glennon's not getting that from many on this board. Freeman improved quite a bit in his second season. Shouldn't Glennon?
That almost made sense. Keep trying. Glennon was the definition of a deer in the headlights in every 4th quarter of all 13 games. The guy repeatedly made ridiculously bad decisions late in games while running from phantom pressure.
That was because of awful o-line play and nobody getting open because our coaching staff refused to make and 2nd half adjustments, by the time the 2nd half arrived the defense knew what we were doing and stopped it. He never looked rattled and he was surprisingly, mobile enough to get away from pressure. I never saw him run away from pressure that wasn't there, but even if he did who can blame him? It's a very fixable problem, just get an offensive line. I don't think he's the franchise QB, but anyone who doesn't see that the best option right now is to keep him in there while we build a strong offensive line and add some weapons so that we can set up our future franchise QB for success is just a moron.
No. You need to watch the games. I know it's not easy, but with NFL Network you can get the all-22 and then you can go back to every third down in the Rams game like I did and only find a few that Glennon had nothing. He had guys open in the short to medium range on every third down save a few. He isn't pulling the trigger!!!!He was better in the last game of the year, and I am not going to discount that he was probably scared to throw the ball because of a certain coach we used to have who said "turnovers CAN'T happen". Thus creating a QB who is too afraid to pull the trigger. I don't care the reasons why he was gun shy, but that is a huge problem. I am just sick and tired of hearing all these excuses and then blaming the OC when nothing could be further from the truth.

Right. Because every QB that comes into the NFL gets one of those, right?Hurry up and call Tebow!! He deserves a fair shake!! 1sB says so. LOLz.If they roll with Glennon and no competition in 2014 I'm going to puke..
Tebow got his fair shake. How many chances does he need? What a dumb post
Nobody is going to confuse Freeman with a franchis QB now, but at one point most of us thought he was. name the offensive talent on that 2009 team? Or how about how we fired the OC in pre season and the QB coach had to wing a play book on the fly and be both OC and QB coach, as bad as this year was 2009 was even a tougher situation to get thrown into. anyways, Glennons stats are very deceiving. We had the 32nd rank offense because we played very conservative.
I actually don't have a problem with the team rolling with Glennon next year, but claiming he's going to be Matt Ryan is pretty danged optimistic. Not completely inconceivable, but certainly optimistic.
He's had some of the same fundamental training as Ryan did and some of the same physical abilities. I'm fine moving forward with Glennon, but I'm also okay if we draft new blood in round 1.
Ravens won a superbowl with (despite) Flacco/Dilfer. If we could develop into something comparable, I'm all good with Mike!

A fair shake from the league and a fair shake from supposed "fans" is two different things. You would think "fans" would be a little more supportive. Glennon was handicapped in every aspect of the game. It's simply not fair to expect a rookie to have a winning record with that roster, those coaches, and that scheme. Jerry Glanville traded away Bret Favre after his rookie season. Had he kept him, he might be famous for something other than" Not For Long" and leaving tickets for Elvis at the box office. I'll wait for Tedford's take on Glennon.
