LOLNO
maybe
To the people acting flabbergastedWe'd be giving up: NEXT YEARS 2ND ROUND PICK and a 16 Million Dollar CB. For #1 overall.Thats not a lot to be giving up at all.

LOL
Trade this years #7, next years 2nd round pick, and trade Revis to get Houstans selection and pick TB?
NO!
Not a chance.
Love all these threads this time of year. Worth some good laughs
the reaction here is insane
If collectively as a staff, you feel Bridgewater is the quarterback of the future, than you make it. If there is any doubt, the offer never makes the table.
Even if I was in doubt I'd make that trade. Just so that for the rest of my life, if I ever felt a bit down, I could just think back to that time I absolutely raped the entire Houston Texans organization, and feel better again.
No. No team would accept that trade. Theyd ask for more.
Truth ^^^^^
Most good GM aren't going to trade a first round pick and then pay someone 16 million dollars unless it's a franchise QB.

No way....first of all this team isn't just ONE player away.Even if it were that player doesn't seem to be in this draft.
I really dont care for hypotheticals like this but Im shocked at how many people are saying hell no. lol what? Yea I would do that in a heart beat. a second round pick and the most expensive cornerback in the league for Teddy Bridgewater. If you guys think thats insane then why the hell are you so excited about two great defensive coaches on our team? Lovie Smith the supposedly defensive guru cant handle losing Darrel Revis even though he gains Bridewater and 16mil more in cap space for pass rushers and other corners...
no, never
I would do that in a heartbeat. Otherwise we are stuck with Revis and wont ever get anything for him. I do believe we would have to absorb some of his salary as well. Apparently Dominik wasn't paying attention but the free agent market was surprisingly tame this year as far as salaries and the contract they gave Revis is an absolute enigma.I would even consider doing that trade to get Clowney. But we would likely be dealing with the Rams at pick no. 2.The Texans are willing to listen to trade offers but it would likely take something similar to the Redskins deal with the Rams for RG3 to get that done and while I cant see the Texans taking on Revis, the Rams could possibly give it a go. Back to the Revis scenario. Believe it or not, the Rams may be the perfect trading partner for Revis even though they currently have the least amount of cap space in the entire NFL. That is because of Courland Finnegan. Read this bit I found on the web regarding his salary cap situation.... http://www.turfshowtimes.com/2013/12/12/5174592/salary-capping-the-st-louis-rams-off-season Cortland FinneganCornerback Cortland Finnegan suffered through an injury-filled 2013 season, playing in just 7 games. Finnegan will have surgery on his eye during the off season, and should have a complete recovery, in time for the 2014 season. His play was disappointing this year, certainly not warranting a contract that ranked 4th among all NFL cornerbacks. Finnegan will be 30 in February, and his skills have shown signs of eroding. Releasing Finnegan would create 3 million in dead money against the salary cap in 2014, but results in cap savings of 26 million [7 in 2014, 9 in 2015, 10 in 2016]. Finnegan has a 3 million roster bonus that becomes fully guaranteed 5 days after the Super Bowl game. It's currently guaranteed for injury, although he can be released for skill or salary cap reasons. The Rams will have to make a decision on retaining Finnegan very early in the off season. They will be looking to reduce Finnegan's cap hit through a pay cut, restructure, or outright release. His situation is described in depth by Nick Wagoner of ESPN (link). Finnegan's status will have a direct impact on the Rams' draft plans in May.So Finnegan's cap savings if he is released this offseason is:2014 - $7 million with $3 million in dead money.2015 - $9 million.2016 - $10 million. The Buccaneers would need to find a way to restructure Revis to make a deal viable. I wonder how the Buccaneers feel about this situation. Apparently, the Glazers must have been on board or else they would have never done the deal for Revis, but as it stands he is making $16 million a year while the next highest paid corners are only making $10 million. After that small group of overpaid corners, nobody is getting that kind of jack anymore. Look at what the other free agent corners got paid this year....CornerbacksBiggest contracts1. Keenan Lewis, New Orleans Saints - five years, $25.55 million ($5.11 million per season, $6 million signing bonus)2. Chris Houston, Detroit Lions - five years, $25 million ($5 million per season, $6.5 million signing bonus, $9.5 million guaranteed)3. Derek Cox, San Diego Chargers - four years, $20 million ($5 million per season, $5.2 million signing bonus, $10.25 million guaranteed)4. Sean Smith, Kansas City Chiefs - three years, $18 million ($5.5 million per season, $6.75 million signing bonus, $7.465 million guaranteed)5. Cary Williams, Philadelphia Eagles - three years, $17 million ($5.67 million per season, $5 million signing bonus, $5.75 million guaranteed) http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2013/4/8/4141222/2013-nfl-free-agents-cornerbacks-derek-cox-keenan-lewis/in/3947993 Yeah, none of those guys are Revis, but good Lord Revis didn't play good enough to justify his salary compared to what the top free agents got.A few of those guys probably outplayed Revis this year, too. Not good.
