Great news for the bucs and vea. Glad they were able to work that out. It didn't do either side good to have him hold out. He's gotta play and now he will have an extension too. Excited to see him with the talent we have on the line this year. He will need to get back in game shape but he didn't miss too much time.
Overall this indicates to me that the Bucs FO does not consider this season as a lost season. Looks like Licht woke up from his slumber and I give credit to him with this deal. Now onto obtaining another CB because it looks like they may end up stashing Morrison on IR to start the season.

I think the thought is we can do damage if things align and our coaching is better than it had been. The roster seems better than last year. Not sure what the cap is for this team but there's still a roster to build around even if bowles stinks and then because of that, have to find a new coach next year. Which I still fully expect but that doesn't mean doom and gloom necessarily. They made a right here and have to right a wrong here in some way whether that means bowles steps the f up or he's gone and we find someone better to lead this team.
I am ok with the one year extension. It makes Vea happy, Buc fans happy, and it should make ownership happy. Vea is a vital piece of the front line. I would not give him a longer term deal but this works out in all parties favor.
One year extension sure. Don't love it but it's fine
