Read-Option: Koetter Versus Winston

My read-option this week pertains more towards the first part of the Cover 3, but if you want to get into the defense, you can certainly do that, too.

Do you think this will all come down to Jameis Winston or Dirk Koetter at the end of the year? Do you think Koetter has failed Winston? I don’t buy that “he calls different plays for Winston than Ryan Fitzpatrick” thing. I am sure there is some variation, but it’s not like Koetter is not calling his best plays to spite Winston or something. The only argument there would be if Winston can’t hit the throws consistently enough for certain plays so Koetter doesn’t want Winston to attempt them.

But do we think Koetter can’t get through to Winston? Is there something to that?

Can both be back next year? Should either?

And if you want to get your thoughts of the poor execution from the defense off your chest, you can do that, too. It was bad. Let them have it, if you wish.
