Bucs Insider Fantasy Outlook 2017: Defense
Bucs Defense

As of now, the Buccaneers’ defense is not a draftable defense according to most fantasy football players.
Even if you believe Tampa Bay will have a better product on defense overall, it might not come in the from of fantasy points, as the team’s schedule is one of the toughest – Brees twice, Ryan twice, Cam twice, Rodgers, Brady, Stafford. I think getting Jacquies Smith back, as well as the addition of Chris Baker, will increase the sack total, but unless that turns into more interceptions, as well, due to pressure, this unit might give up too many points just by the nature of their opponents to be draft worthy. They’re a team you’d pick up for a few games if you’re playing the waiver wire matchup with your defense week-to-week.
That could change if we really see them get aggressive in training camp. But, with Mike Smith’s defense being more of a “bend but don’t break”, it’s hard to draft them over some agressive defenses with easier schedules.
