Bucs wide receiver Emeka Egbuka doesn’t sound like someone easing into a new situation. Instead, he’s already envisioning a Bucs offense that could be one of the more dynamic units in the league.

Sure, there’s going to be change with the offense this season. Mike Evans is gone, Zac Robinson is the new offensive coordinator, and third-round draft pick Ted Hurst looks like he’ll be an important contributor to a talented Tampa Bay receiver room.

Yet change can be a good thing. And that’s what the Bucs are banking on this season.

With all the skill that Tampa Bay’s offense has, we don’t know just yet who’s going to be their top producer at receiver or who the player that gets the most targets will be. On paper, a case could be made for Egbuka, Chris Godiwn Jr. or Jalen McMillan to be the focal point of the passing game this season. Egbuka in a great spot to be the top receiver for this group. He led Tampa Bay in receiving last year with 938 yards – and it wasn’t even close, as Evans, Godwin and McMillan all missed several games throughout the season.

Ultimately it’s going to come down to Robinson and how he operates this offense throughout the season. Robinson has worked with a lot of talent before, but this can be the most talented and deepest group of receivers he has had the chance to work with. Egbuka was on NFL Network on Tuesday, being interviewed by Sara Walsh when he spoke about what Robinson’s arrival could mean for the team.

“I think he brings a new style of offense,” Egbuka said. “I think coming from Atlanta, obviously, they had a lot of success there last year. They had a great wide receiver production when it comes to Drake London. Obviously, they got the running back involved. They got Bijan Robinson. And then their tight end, Kyle Pitts, had a great year as well. So I think he does a great job of utilizing all the weapons that he’s given.”

Emeka Egbuka Believes The Bucs Offense Will Be Dangerous

The ability to spread the ball around in the passing game is exactly what excites Emeka Egbuka about this team in 2026. The Bucs offense is loaded with playmakers at every level.

It’s not just the receivers. Tampa Bay has a top 5 offensive line in the league when fully healthy, along with a great trio of running backs that will compliment each other well with Bucky Irving, Kenneth Gainwell and Sean Tucker. Starting tight end Cade Otton is another important piece for what the offense wants to accomplish. This will allow Zac Robinson to fully open up the playbook that quarterback Baker Mayfield will be operating.

“Coming to Tampa, he has a lot of weapons,” Egbuka said of Robinson. “He has me, he has Chris Godwin, he has Jalen McMillan, he has Bucky Irving, Tez Johnson, Cade Otton. There are so many weapons that are at his disposal now. I think just the more creative ways he finds to give us the ball with Baker Mayfield at the helm, I think we’re going to have a really dangerous offense.”

For Egbuka, it’s not just about the talent on paper. It’s about how that talent can be utilized. If Robinson can replicate the balance and versatility he showed with the Falcons, Tampa Bay could field an offense that keeps defenses guessing week after week – especially with more talent than he had to work with in Atlanta.

With Mayfield’s command of the unit and a deep group of playmakers, the Bucs have the pieces together in place to have a lot success as the unit tries to get back to the potency that was on display in 2024 when Liam Coen had Tampa Bay scoring 29 points per game.

If Egbuka’s early impression proves accurate, “dangerous” might end up being an understatement.
