While the Tampa Bay Buccaneers look for their next head coach, it seems their old one isn’t having trouble finding work, as it is being reported that Dirk Koetter has accepted the Falcons offensive coordinator job.

The Minnesota Vikings also had interest in Koetter, but Atlanta seems to be the best fit for Koetter.

Koetter was the Falcons coordinator from 2012-2014 before he was the coordinator and head coach in Tampa Bay.

Think MIN would be a better fit for him really but I understand. Wish him the best.

Fantastic, we get new real head coach, and one of our rivals gets our loser! There may be hope after all?!

Dirk Koetter was a class act from day 1. I wish him luck but not against the Bucs if he goes to Atlanta.

Actually, this makes sense. Koetter has a unique insight into both the Defense and Offense of the Bucs and he will probably be able to assist Falcons in preparing for future games. His disadvantage will be that we will be deploying a new Defense.

If our rivals in the South hire their coordinators so they can prepare for one or two specific opponents, then the division is ours.
What next? Will Atlanta hire former Panthers defensive line coach Brady Hoke as defensive coordinator?

We’ll have a new defense and new offense but our rival will be playing the same offense that’s familiar to our players to pass on to our new defense..

I only wish the best for dirk and I’m not unhappy with him going to the Falcons as I view the Falcons as a foe I don’t think Dirk is the best offensive coordinator so it’s good that he’s at the Falcons I do think Dirk is a great guy and I wish him the best his personality is better suited to be a coordinator instead of a head coach

It’s torture waiting to hear if they’re going to hire Bruce for the head coach I haven’t been that excited about the Bucs in a long time and I can’t wait I just hope they do it

I think the salary paid to him by Falcons is subtracted from what Bucs owe him for next year not sure do not think he can collect full contract from Bucs if being paid by other team I thought he had 4 year contract with Bucs again not sure.

Let’s be honest here, Koetter was the best OC the Bucs have ever known. He had a top 5 offense every year, kudos to Him. He just was not a good manager of the whole team, or with specific game time duties. He should have put more focus on the defense early on and not let his friend cost him his job. But life is a learning experience, and hopefully Koetter learned from this endeavor. I wish him the best wherever he goes.
