When the Bucs take on the Colts on Sunday, they’ll be without one of their most important offensive starters. Left guard Ali Marpet, who injured his oblique against the Giants, has been ruled out for Week 12. The Bucs top offensive lineman did not make the trip to Indianapolis. Marpet failed to practice all week, and was listed as doubtful on Friday’s final injury report.
The Buccaneers have downgraded LG Ali Marpet to OUT for Sunday’s game against the Colts. He did not travel to Indianapolis.

Marpet is in the midst of a Pro Bowl caliber season, so hopefully this injury only keeps him out a week. The Bucs star guard has never made a Pro Bowl, but was on his way last year before a concussion cost him three games. This will be Marpet’s first missed game of the 2021 season. Aaron Stinnie replaced Marpet against New York, and will start again on Sunday.
Stinnie still in for Alex Cappa in three starts during last year’s Super Bowl run. He performed well on that massive stage, but will have a huge challenge against DeForest Buckner in Week 12. Buckner leads the Colts with 4.5 sacks and is one of the best defensive tackles in the NFL. He’s also a comical physical mismatch for Stinnie. At 6-3, 310 pounds, Stinnie is on the smaller side for NFL guards. Buckner is one of the league’s tallest and longest defensive tackles at 6-7.
