We’ve talked quite a bit about Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans this week. Our own Trevor Sikkema even dedicated his Cover 3 to it by using film and statistics to examine how Evans fares when it comes to yards after the catch.

This time around we’re keeping the subject the same but switching gears a bit to a fantasy football outlook of Evans.

Evans came in as the No. 7 ranked wide receiver for ChatSports’s Top 12 receivers for the 2018 season.

“Evans scored only five touchdowns in 2017 after posting 12 the season before. He was the number one fantasy receiver in 2016 and that was coming off a season where he scored only three touchdowns in 2015. All I’m saying is don’t sleep on Evan’s crazy upside in 2018.”

Evans trialed Antonio Brown, DeAndre Hopkins, Odell Beckham Jr., Julio Jones, Keenan Allen and Michael Thomas, in that order.

What are your thoughts on where Evans ranked among those guys heading into the fantasy football season?

I’ve never had Mike on my fantasy team, though I try not to draft Bucs, don’t want to jinx our season!

Don’t know about Evans, but Rojo will be one I try to draft early. Mike has a lot of competition for passes thrown his way, Jones will have a big fantasy impact this year. He’s the one Buc I want.

The top 4 WRs are currently better than Mike. The next 2 benefit from veteran QBs with pass heavy offenses. Mike also has some pretty good pass catching teammates that limit his fantasy appeal. The fact that he is #7 is a tribute to just how good he is.

here is the trick….just be in the hunt in mid December. This is the 1st season I have had this optimism to this degree in a long time. We deserved every single game we lost, and every season that tanked. Lord, did we lose some close games. The improved “O” and “D” lines are gonna give us a damn good secondary and a smokin passing attack. Throw in a good running game. Damn, we are gonna win some GAMES, ya’ll!
