The NFL has announced an important slate of dates for the new year, including the start of the 2021 league year and the three-day window for the 2021 NFL Draft.

The new league year will begin on March 17 at 4PM EST, and the NFL Draft will be held about six weeks later on April 29-May 1. NFL clubs will be able to designate franchise and transition tags to players set to be free agents on February 23rd.

That’s an especially important note for Bucs fans, as Tampa Bay will have a number of key free agents that they could use the tag on. WR Chris Godwin and LB Lavonte David headline the list, but 2020 franchise tag recipient Shaq Barrett will also be a free agent. TE Rob Gronkowski and DT Ndamukong Suh are other notable free agents for the Bucs this offseason.

The first thing Tampa needs to do is restructure Donovan Smith’s contract to move some of that money into incentives. Start docking his ass every time he gets Brady pounded into the field.

By Restructuring it actually pays the player monies due off the backend of his contract which would have the opposite effect of what you are wanting. The Bucs owe D Smith nothing at end of this season so you may get your wish then. Cheers!

Well nevermind technically he has a team option so the team gets to make the call on him from what I’ve been told.
