Welcome to a brand new season of Pewter Pick$ & Prop$! Each week Pewter Report’s Matt Matera will go through the upcoming Bucs game, creating a lineup of Bucs player props that fans can choose to join with if they so choose. Matera also determines whether the over or under point total will hit against each opponent, and if the Bucs can cover the spread as either an underdog or the favorite.
And for those who are daring, there will be some Bucs alternate player props that may not be as easy to attain, but yield big returns and payouts if they are won!

Along with that, Matera will review some picks his likes around the league for the rest of the NFL.
While this segment will be in video form on Pewter Report’s YouTube channel PewterReportTV, and fans are encouraged to watch the video, Matera will share some of his picks in written form for those that prefer to reading content.
With that, let’s get to that picks!
Bucs Player Props For Week 1 At The Bengals
QB Baker Mayfield More Than 224.5 Passing Yards
Nobody has been more fired up these past two months than Mayfield. He began training camp feeling disrespected and channeling his anger into some great practices. By the end of it, he became $165 million richer. The motivation is still there since he needs to prove that he’s worth getting paid all that money.
Mayfield will have most of his wide receiver weapons at his disposal with Emeka Egbuka playing in the game. Just as important, Zac Robinson gets his first game as a play caller for Tampa Bay. There’s been many comparisons from Robinson to Liam Coen given their history together and history with Mayfield. When Coen was the coordinator, Mayfield threw for 289 yards in the season opener. Robinson may not get that high of a number, but well over the 226 yards that Baker needs.
RB Bucky Irving More Than 57.5 Rushing Yards

What’s going to help Irving more than anything else is having a healthy offensive line in front of him. Plus, the Bengals had the worst rushing defense in the league last season. While the Bengals did bring in players to improve that, most notably with Dexter Lawrence, expect more zone runs to the boundaries with Irving. He’s fresh and ready to go as the lead back for Tampa Bay.
QB Joe Burrow More Than 209.5 Passing + Rushing Yards
Burrow has as much pressure on him as Mayfield does this year after two injury filled seasons. The Bengals have a big advantage with Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins going against Jacob Parrish and Zyon McCollum. How much can Burrow exploit that? I think eneough to keep the game competitive.
I also believe that the Bucs’ pass rush will be menacing all game. This will build the Bucs a lead and force Burrow to throw often in order to keep up. Also, a constant pass rush may force Burrow to scramble here and there, which is why the passing and rushing combo was added.
WR Chris Godwin Jr. More Than 2.5 Receptions
What has been mentioned about Godwin this week speaks volumes.
“Chris Godwin looks like the best version of Chris Godwin I’ve seen and [I’m] really excited about that,” Mayfield said.Â

“He’s a total stud, human being, football player,” Robinson also stated. “He’ll probably go down as one of my all-time favorite guys to be around and I’ve been around him just a short amount of time.”
The concern over Godwin being able to return from injury has been washed away. He’s more of a possessions receiver these days, but he’s as sure handed as it gets. Godwin will be an important player in the slot for Tampa Bay and a security blanket for Mayfield on third downs. Godwin is going to well surpass 2.5 catches props.
