The Pick: Quenton Nelson, OG, Notre Dame
The 49ers are in a really good spot. They have young pieces on their team, an innovative head coach, a smart general manager and their quarterback of the future locked up. All of that and the Niners are in pretty good cap shape.
San Francisco has an opportunity to set themselves up for the perfect offseason philosophy: draft the talent at the important positions and let the cap space and free agency fill in the rest. If Nelson is there for the 49ers, I think he’s an easy choice for them, and a good start to that philosophy.
