No. 1 Cleveland Browns (0-16)

The Pick: Saquon Barkley, RB, Penn State

The Browns are in a luxurious spot — as long as you can stomach them being winless. Not only were they bad enough to earn a Top 5 pick themselves, but a pick that they are in possession of was also bad enough to earn a Top 5 pick, as well.

A lot of people have the Browns taking a quarterback with their No. 1 pick, likely coming to the conclusion that they can have their pick of whichever top quarterback they like the most. But, what if they like two or even three of them nearly equally? If that’s the case, and they think they can win with Darnold, Rosen or Mayfield, why not grab Saquon Barkley at No. 1, lock him up, and be fine with whichever quarterback they are left with at No. 4?

The Giants could take Barkley and the Colts could take Barkley, but they can’t each take more than one quarterback before the Browns select again and there’s a chance they might not take a quarterback at all. That could work to the Browns’ advantage, if they, in fact, like Barkley enough to pick him in the Top 5.
