No. 2 New York Jets (5-11) via NYG
The Pick: Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA
My reasoning for the Jets moving up to No,. 2 overall stems from the recent reports that not only have they been linked as a team that would throw the kitchen sink at running back Le’Veon Bell in free agency, but they would also do the same for quarterback Kirk Cousins. That hints to me that the Jets are going to continue to be that aggressive in the draft, if they don’t land Cousins.
The Jets have the No. 6 overall pick, as well as two second round picks (one from Seattle). All three of those picks would be good enough for them to jump up to No. 2 with a team that may not have as dire of a desire to grab a quarterback that high in the Giants — plus Barkley being off the board.
Jets get aggressive and grab their guy.
