No. 6 New York Giants (3-13) via NYJ

The Pick: Roquan Smith, LB, Georgia

In this mock, I have the Giants trading back a few spots with the Jets, getting two second round picks out of it and grabbing one of the best players in the draft — that’s a win in any book, I’d say.

The Giants could stand to go with a player like Note Dame offensive guard Quenton Nelson here, but new general manager Dave Gettleman never prioritized offensive linemen, even tackles, during his time in Carolina. Instead he focused most of his top picks on the defensive line and linebacker positions. The Giants haven’t spent anything higher than a fourth round pick on a linebacker since 2009. I think that would change in this scenario.
