When you are part of a winning football team like the Bucs have been in 2020, other franchises take notice.
According to a report from ProFootballTalk.com, Bucs defensive coordinator Todd Bowles will interview for the Falcons open head coaching job next week.
On Tuesday Bucs head coach Bruce Arians told the media he was unaware of any of his assistants having being contacted by other teams for interviews.
Bowles, 57, has served as Tampa Bay’s defensive coordinator for the past two seasons under Arians, and prior to that spent four seasons as the head coach of the New York Jets where he complied 24-40 record. Bowles also interviewed for the Falcons head job in 2015 before Atlanta settled on Dan Quinn who they fired earlier this season.
The Buccaneers defense finished the regular season sixth in the NFL in total defense giving up an average of 327.1 yards per game after finishing 15th in the league in 2019 in total defense.
