When you are part of a winning football team like the Bucs have been in 2020, other franchises take notice.

According to a report from ProFootballTalk.com, Bucs defensive coordinator Todd Bowles will interview for the Falcons open head coaching job next week.

On Tuesday Bucs head coach Bruce Arians told the media he was unaware of any of his assistants having being contacted by other teams for interviews.

Bowles, 57, has served as Tampa Bay’s defensive coordinator for the past two seasons under Arians, and prior to  that spent four seasons as the head coach of the New York Jets where he complied 24-40 record. Bowles also interviewed for the Falcons head job in 2015 before Atlanta settled on Dan Quinn who they fired earlier this season.

The Buccaneers defense finished the regular season sixth in the NFL in total defense giving up an average of 327.1 yards per game after finishing 15th in the league in 2019 in total defense.

Not sure how everyone else feels about this but kinda hoping Bowles gets that Falcons job. He clearly wants another shot so might as well be in the nfc south. Would love to see Brady torching his CB’s twice a year while playing in his soft zone coverage. Must See TV!

He’s not getting any H.C. jobs this year.

Bowles started out strong but the Bucs D has been slipping in areas. He’s good, but he’s not Monte Kiffin.

Nobody is Monte Kiffen, that guys was the best Defensive coordinator of all time, and never cared to Head Coach which made him even better.

Also, notice how no one is interviewing Byron Leftwich (that I’ve heard yet)? Lol that’s all you need to know about how long his season has taken to click.

Bowles is a better coach than:
Zac Taylor
Vic Fangio
Kliff Kingsbury
Matt Nagy
Mike McCarthy
Jason Garrett
Mike Zimmer
Doug Pederson

Coordinator* hes done nothing to show that he’s a better HC than some of those guys.

Says who? Bowles was a flop with the Jets.

I honestly don’t see him getting a HC gig after the disaster in New York but maybe they think he’s turned over a new leaf. Even as a coordinator, he’s done well but is slow on adjustments

Careful. PR commenters get real butthurt when you call out their Almighty Coaching Staff Praise Be Unto Them.
