After wide receiver Mike Evans suffered a knee injury against the Atlanta Falcons, forcing the veteran pass-catcher to leave the game in the first quarter, Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer reported that Evans’ MRI showed no ligament damage and that the Bucs are cautiously optimistic that he could play in the first round of the playoffs for Tampa Bay.

The report comes after Bruce Arians’ gave a relatively encouraging update in his post-game press conference on Sunday.

“The turf was really slick in the end zones and it was just a freaky thing,” Arians said about Evans’ injury. “Knock on wood, we don’t think there’s any serious damage. We’ll know more in the next 24 hours.”

Pewter Report will continue to update this story as more information is made available.

Good to hear, I wouldn’t play him next week as we should be able to beat Washington/NY without him and let him rest for the divisional as we will need all the help we can get

My thinking on this is Mike has waited seven years for an opportunity be in a playoff scenario and if he is just sore and there is no significant damage he will play. No guarantees on getting there next year so you seize the opportunity when it is available. Good luck Mike…..Peter Nation is pulling for you.

Awesome news for Mike. Would have been a tough break for him to wait until year 7 to make the playoffs and not be able to play. Good luck to 13 and the bucs!!!

I think Jesus has more important things to worry about than Mike’s knee.
