After suffering a knee injury against the Saints in the Divisional Round, wide receiver Antonio Brown was forced to miss the Bucs’ NFC Championship game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Brown is expected to be healthy and ready to play in the Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs.

“He battled a knee injury, they thought he was going to be good to go earlier in the week but just did not quite heal up like they thought so he was out,” Rapoport said. “As far as Antonio Brown, I’m told the expectation is that he will be back for the Super Bowl, he was pretty close this week, so that is a good sign for the Bucs.”

According to head coach Bruce Arians earlier in the week, the expectation was that Brown would be healthy enough to play against Green Bay but his injury hadn’t progressed as quickly as Tampa Bay was hoping.

“We just talked to him this morning and to put him on the plane and fly up there and have it swell more just doesn’t make any sense,” Arians said on Friday. “He wasn’t as close as we had hoped so we’ll get him ready for the next one.”

Having AB fit for the Superbowl will be another huge plus for this team. Plus getting Antoine Winfield back and getting Vita Vea some more reps, we should have all our dogs ready to hunt!

Sounds good! I hope Arians and Bowles are planning to lock themselves in a room with their staff and come up with the best possible game plan. Dumb A** Keyshawn Johnson was talking up Andy Reid being the Bye Week King and he’s gonna have the best game plan and seemed to be laughing at the Bucs chances. He’s just mad he’s out on 50lbs since retiring and hates any other Bucs Team getting any credit other than the one he was on. Our guys got 2 weeks to get healthy, heal up, rest up, and get out on that… Read more »

I saw the same show with Keyshawn and I didn’t think that at all. Andy Reid wins something like 90% of the games after the bye-week, so he is true on that. Also, if you didn’t see the shows before the game, he had picked the Bucs to win yesterday.

And Alex Cappa.

The Chiefs are gonna be without their starting Left Tackle and lost their starting Right Tackle earlier this season. That is the beginning of a recipe for an absolute first for Barrett and JPP!!!

A lot of players suffering from nagging injuries right now. Evans, Godwin and RoJo on the injury report every day of the week.
This week off will give them a chance to heel those injuries and come back fresh against the Chiefs.

I don’t want to jinx anything, but we are weirdly kinda healthy right now. I know everyone is banged up in their own way, and Winfield, Whitehead and AB need to get right, but it could be way way worse (and often is) at this point in the season. Keep those Covid protocols tight and don’t be stupid! All hands on deck!

Yep. Here’s a shocker…no hamstrings!

Isn’t that the truth! LAst couple of years were all about the hamstrings.

Great news. We need all hands on deck to defeat the defending champion in two weeks. We also need better hands by our receivers – way too many dropped passes yesterday. We also need to play a different game offensively – like to see our tight ends especially Gronk get a few more targets. Fournette should get some more targets too, if he could hang onto the ball better. While the long downfield passes worked slightly more often than they didn’t, giving away the ball three times to the defense is simply unacceptable, particularly when facing Mahomes and his big… Read more »

What you don’t like your boy Leftwich’s play calling this week? You mean the constant banging of your head on first down running it up the gut for 2 yards isn’t working? The third and long passes every time that put way more pressure on your receivers and Qb?

Right cgmastet! I’m watching and time after time after time it’s run up the middle on first?! I mean we won, right? So, not much to complain about. But u r giving up a down and each offensive series u r giving Brady just two downs to get the first. Usually culminating with. 3rd and long. I just don’t understand that logic. In the SuperBowl, I would pass it on first down 100% just to tuck with everybody! Ha! Ha! Ha!

Winfield and Brown are likely both going. Great news! I’m hoping Whitehead can play. Unsure of the severity of his injury.. If our defense can keep us from falling behind early, again, I like our chances!

Great news! Any chance we get Cappa back in time?
